Sevilla vs Salzburg

The home side opened the La Liga campaign well, as they missed the chance to win only once in the first three rounds. Although Sevilla sits in 6th place, they have one game in hand, and if they win it, they can level up with the leading teams. Julen Lopetegui’s side has been disciplined in the back, as they conceded just once in three matches. On the other hand, Youssef En Nesyri and the lads are doing a good job in front of the oppositions’ net. Sevilla hasn’t played its La Liga match last weekend, and they had more time to prepare for this encounter.

Salzburg is still the most dominant team in the Austrian Bundesliga, and it seems nobody can stand their way to the new title. The away side celebrated in all seven rounds in the domestic league, and they are seven points ahead of Sturm Graz. Matthias Jaissle’s team is young, but they are good enough to provide a few surprises on the international stage as well. The visitors secured a Champions League spot after eliminating Brindby in the playoffs. Salzburg is on a hot streak, as they booked 12 straight victories, including friendlies. Karim Adeyemi is another hot prospect for the Red Bulls, and we will see if he can shine in the elite continental competition as well.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Salzburg can pose real trouble to many teams in the Champions League, but they might not have a lot of experience on the big stage. Sevilla is a team that can punish all opponent’s mistakes, and they should be confident at the home ground. Therefore, we believe the hosts will win this encounter.

Goals Market Prediction

Although Sevilla is pretty tough to crack, Salzburg doesn’t give up on the attacking approach. We should see an entertaining clash,  and the nets shouldn’t remain still.

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

The hosts entered a new era after a turbulent summer and Leo Messi’s departure. Barcelona needed to reduce their costs, and mostly the salary budget. As a result, Messi left the club and signed for PSG, while Antione Griezmann returned to Atletico Madrid. Ronald Koeman’s side was very confident at the start of the La Liga campaign after beating Real Sociedad 4:0. However, they spilled two points Athletic Bilbao but got back on the winning track with a 2:1 victory over Getafe. Memphis Depay and the lads will face the toughest challenge so far, and they want to secure a positive result in this clash.

Bayern Munich heads to this match after an important 4:1 victory over RB Leipzig on the road. Although they started the season with a draw against Borussia Monchengladbach, the Bavarians tied three wins in the Bundesliga. Robert Lewandowski and the lads are clinical in front of the oppositions’ net, as they have been producing more than three goals per game on average. Julian Nagelsmann took over the bench this summer and wants to show he is ready for a new challenge in his career. Bayern scored nine goals on the previous two occasions, and they want to keep up where they left off.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

This match is very hard to predict, as two giants face each other. However, Bayern Munich is in a much better momentum, and we believe they will get back home from Barcelona with a win.

Goals Market Prediction

Head-to-head clashes between these two teams have always been a joy to watch. Just one out of their last six encounters stayed under a 2.5 margin. We should enjoy at least three goals in this one, and football fans should see another exciting match.

FC Barcelona

Although they sign a few players such as Memphis Depay, Sergio Leonel Kun Aguero and so on, none of them can take the place of Lionel Andres Messi. They do not play well on defensive, with 4 conceding goals in recent 3 games.

Bayern Munchen

There is great changes in the team. Julian Nagelsmann take the charge of them this season. And they bring in Dayot Upamecano, Marcel Sabitzer to improve themselves. They are good at offensive, with 28 scoring goals in recent 6 games.

Verdict:

Bayern Munchen are better than FC Barcelona. And Bayern Munchen take the upper hand over FC Barcelona in past head to head clashes with a record of 5W-1D-4L. Bayern Munchen are good at offensive while FC Barcelona are weak in defensive. So Bayern Munchen have the tendency to win in upcoming game.

Young Boys vs Manchester United

The Champions League group stages get underway on Tuesday night in Group F with Swiss side Young Boys hosting Premier League club Manchester United in a 5:45pm BST kick-off from the Stadion Wankdorf in Bern. On paper, this feels like a game that the away side need to win but in this competition there are no easy matches so the home team will certainly believe they can spring a surprise.

Young Boys have experienced a patchy start to their season so far. Manager David Wagner came up against Manchester United during his managerial days with Huddersfield when he guided the Terriers to the Premier League but his career has been on a downward slope since those days with an ill-fated spell at Bundesliga side Schalke. The team started their season reasonably well having qualified for the Champions League group stages by navigating their way past Slovan Bratislava, CFR Clug, and Ferencvaros whilst also winning their first league game but they have now failed to win their last 3 league matches leaving them in mid-table. Young Boys might have scored 3 goals in each of their home games in this competition so far but they have only managed 1 win in their 8 meetings with English sides in European competition.

Manchester United are in the midst of Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese national team captain returned to Old Trafford in a blaze of glory over the weekend with a brace in a 4-1 win over Newcastle. Striker Edinson Cavani has been ruled out of this game so head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be forced to recall Ronaldo for this game. The Red Devils were busy during the summer adding quality to the squad with the likes of Ronaldo, Rafael Varane, and Jadon Sancho and they appear to be worthwhile additions given the fact United are currently top of the Premier League on goal difference after 3 wins and a 1 draw. United have struggled in the group stages under Solskjaer in this competition having lost to RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir at this stage last year and having conceded in 9 of their last 10 Champions League games. Solskjaer has named a number of young players in his squad for this game including winger Anthony Elanga and goalkeeper Matej Kovar. I still expect him to name a strong starting eleven for this game.

This is it now. The big time games are here. Young Boys will relish this opportunity to play against one of European football's top sides but they come into this game as heavy underdogs. Manchester United will be pleased with the group stage draw they have received but will be fully aware that these sorts of games are huge banana skin ties. I do think United will get the win but I wouldn't be surprised if they suffered a scare.

Chelsea vs Zenit St Petersburg

The reigning Champions League champions Chelsea kickstart their group stage campaign at home against Russian Premier League club Zenit St Petersburg in an 8pm BST kick-off on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge. Can the current trophy holders begin the defence of their title in the best way possible with a win or can the visiting side cause a shock of seismic proportions?

Chelsea surprised a lot of people by winning last season's Champions League but the way they have performed under head coach Thomas Tuchel since he arrived midway through last season shows that they are now one of the most in-form club teams in European football. The signing of striker Romelu Lukaku has only added to their embarrassment of riches. The Blues have only been denied top spot in the Premier League by virtue of goal difference. The bad news ahead of this game is that the duo of N'Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic have been ruled out. It is now 11 group stage games unbeaten for the London club though. They have also won 5 of their 6 meetings with Russian sides in the Champions League.

Zenit St Petersburg are one of the surprise packages to be involved in the group stage of this year's competition. Head coach Sergei Semak did a cracking job getting his team to this stage after guiding them to the Russia Premier League title last season. His team has continued that fine domestic form by storming to the top of the league table this term with 5 wins and 2 draws from their opening 7 league matches. Unfortunately, last season's Champions League suggests that Zenit still have work to do on the European front having lost each of their away trips by at least 2 goals last campaign. An issue of ill discipline was also evident with Zenit conceding a penalty in all three of their group stage defeats on the road.

You have to commend Tuchel on the job he's done at Chelsea since he's come in. It can be argued that Frank Lampard laid the foundations but Tuchel has certainly taken the team to the next level. They were worthy winners of the Champions League last season and are rightly being touted as favourites for this year's competition and the Premier League title. Zenit St Petersburg could be in for a tough night here.

Young Boys v Man U: 20 points on Sancho to score at 3.75 on BF

Looking at the line ups and the spreads I think he's the value in terms of United scorers (with no-one offering a generous price for the obvious Ronnie today). Spreads have him in the same ballpark as Fernandes but he's much shorter with the fixed odds firms. Scored enough goals for Dortmund for me to chance my arm at the price.

Atletico Madrid vs Porto

The home side heads to this game after an important 2:1 victory over Espanyol on the road in La Liga. Although Diego Simeone’s side trailed 1:0 until the 79th minute, they managed to pull off a turnaround. Thomas Lemar scored deep into the stoppage time for important three points that kept Atletico Madrid among the leading teams in La Liga. The hosts are doing very well in the front, but they have managed to keep the clean sheet only once so far. Knowing that Los Colchoneros have been pretty disciplined defensively in the past season, they need to tighten their backline. Group B is very tough, with Liverpool and Milan besides these two sides, and every victory is priceless.

Porto remained undefeated in the Primeira Liga derby match against Sporting, snatching a 1:1 draw. Dragons equalized in the mid-second half and kept a positive result despite having Toni Martinez sent off in the last few minutes of the game. The visitors are four points behind the leading Benfica in the domestic championship, and they still haven’t tasted a defeat. Sergio Conceicao’s side enjoyed a good Champions League campaign last season, where Chelsea eliminated them in the quarter-finals. However, Luis Diaz and the lads will have a much more challenging task in the group stage to reach the playoffs again.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be an interesting clash, as both sides have a chance to win. However, Atletico Madrid is a favorite, and we think the hosts will meet expectations and deliver a win.

Goals Market Prediction

Atletico Madrid kept the clean sheet only once on the previous 12 occasions, including friendlies. On the other hand, Porto conceded in five of their last six outings. Therefore, we expect to see goals in both nets on Wednesday evening.

Manchester City vs RB Leipzig

The hosts were very close to the biggest success in their history and just one match away from the Champions League trophy. However, Manchester City lost to Chelsea in the CL finals and missed the chance to win the title. Pep Guardiola’s side is among the top contenders for the best European club again, and they enjoy a solid start to the campaign. After losing to Leicester City in the Community Shield and Tottenham in the opening round of the Premier League, the Citizens tied three victories. Ilkay Gundogan and the lads have been particularly confident against Norwich City and Arsenal. Manchester City managed to keep the clean sheet three times in a row, and they host RB Leipzig full of confidence.

On the other hand, the away side heads to this match after losing to Bayern Munich 4:1 in Bundesliga. The German runners-up booked just one victory in four rounds and suffered three defeats. Jesse Marsch doesn’t enjoy a good start at RB Leipzig’s bench as his team is already nine points behind the top spot. Andre Silva and the lads should do much better in the final third, as they have scored only five goals so far. RB Leipzig has two tough opponents in Group A, Manchester City and PSG, while they shouldn’t underestimate Club Brugge as well. The visitors need to improve their form if they want to enjoy success this season.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Manchester City is in a much better momentum, and anything except their victory would be a surprise. We believe they will meet the expectations and secure the advantage already at halftime.

Goals Market Prediction

RB Leipzig struggles in attack, and they still haven’t scored on the road. On the other hand, Manchester City managed to keep its net intact in the last three games. We might see a similar scenario, and therefore, back the BTTS No market.

Inter vs Real Madrid

The Serie A defending champions hope for a more successful Champions League campaign this season. Last time, they finished at the bottom of the group and ended their continental participation in December. Inter suffered huge changes this summer due to their financial troubles. Antonio Conte left the bench, and Simone Inzaghi is now Inter’s head coach. Departures also impact their squad, and the most notable transfer is Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea. Nevertheless, the hosts are doing well at the beginning of the Serie A season, as they tied two victories. However, they spilled two points in Genova against Sampdoria last weekend. Inter keeps being clinical in the front, and they want to continue in the same fashion against Real Madrid.

The visitors head to this match after celebrating a 5:2 home win against Celta Vigo last Sunday. Despite trailing 2:1 at halftime, Karim Benzema drove his team to a victory and scored a hat-trick. Real Madrid is among La Liga’s leaders with ten points from four rounds, and the only hiccup they had was a 3:3 draw in Levante. While Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been very productive, they kept the clean sheet only once. Real Madrid conceded at least two goals on two occasions this season, and they need to be more disciplined in the back. They want to continue their unbeatable run and get back from Milano with a point at least.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be an entertaining clash, and we expect to see a big battle between these two sides. Both teams enjoy their good forms, and this match will very likely end in a draw.

Goals Market Prediction

Both teams have been involved in many high-scoring matches recently. They have been clinical in the final third, but their defenses were pretty leaky. We don’t see either side keeping the clean sheet, and therefore, go with a BTTS Yes here.

Liverpool vs Milan

The home side kicked off its Premier League campaign very well, as they are joint first along with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Everton. Liverpool missed the chance to beat only the Blues at home, while they head to this game after a confident 3:0 victory in Leeds. Jurgen Klopp’s side conceded just once so far in the season, while they have been pretty productive in the front. The Reds want to challenge for the Premier League title while also eyeing a good campaign in the Champions League. However, Group B is pretty tough, and it will be interesting to see who will progress to the playoffs.

Milan seems to be full of confidence, as they booked all three wins in Serie A. The latest one came against Lazio last weekend, and the away side looked pretty confident. Stefano Pioli’s side also allowed just one goal in three matches, and that one they conceded in a 4:1 win over Cagliari. Rossoneri have the perfect score in Serie A with Roma and Napoli, and they might challenge the title once again. Although they have tough rivals in the group, Milan wants to secure a place in the top two and progress to the first knockout round.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

We expect to see a tight clash where both sides have a chance to win. However, Liverpool is a favorite, and they have enough depth to see off their opponents and book the first victory.

Goals Market Prediction

Both sides have been clinical in front of the oppositions’ net so far, and we believe they will keep up where they left off. The crowd could see an entertaining clash with at least three goals in total.

Manchester City vs RB Leipzig

The Champions League group stage action continues on Wednesday night when Premier League champions Manchester City take on Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Etihad Stadium in Group A. The home side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in last season's final and will be hoping to go one better this season starting off by beating an out-of-sorts visiting team in this opener.

Manchester City feel like a team that really should have won a Champions League trophy by now but the elusive accolade still evades them. The Citizens narrowly missed out last season after reaching their first final and after investing £100 million in Jack Grealish over the summer there is a sense that if this isn't the year it happens then it may never happen. Pep Guardiola has seen his team win their last 3 competitive games after a shock 1-0 home defeat to Tottenham on the opening weekend of the domestic season. The team could welcome back key duo Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden for this game but third choice keeper Scott Carson is set to play in goal with Ederson and Zach Steffan both unavailable.

RB Leipzig are not the force they have been in previous seasons based on early season form. The departure of former head coach Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich has left the team in a bit of disarray. The Red Bulls are down in 12th place after in the Bundesliga after losing 3 of their first 4 league games. Current head coach Jesse Marsch will be hoping his side can spring a surprise here but it's also 5 losses in their last 7 away games and they have lost 3 of their 4 matches against Premier League teams in this competition. The side will be without the duo of Marcel Halstenberg and Marcelo Saracchi.

Both of these teams have inconvenient blows to their team selection. Manchester City will be given Carson a rare stint outside his third choice dungeon and RB Leipzig have defensive worries. I think the difference here is we'll see a settled City team playing with confidence against a RB Leipzig team currently in a period of transition. Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 4-1 on the weekend and I wouldn't be surprised if City delivered an equally brutal level of punishment here.

Liverpool vs AC Milan

The final preview for this opening round of Champions League group stage games is the 8pm BST kick-off between Premier League club Liverpool and Serie A side AC Milan at Anfield in Group B. It's a difficult group for both of these sides with Atletico Madrid and Porto waiting after this game so starting on a positive footing is crucial for both sides if they are to have any hope of progressing to the last 16.

Liverpool are looking like a side that can challenge on all fronts this season. The Reds have won 3 and drawn 1 of their Premier League games so far this season with the only dropped points coming against title rivals Chelsea. Only 1 goal has been conceded by Jurgen Klopp's side during that start to the league campaign as well. Interestingly, Liverpool might need that resilient defence here because they have only ever kept 1 clean sheet in their last 4 home matches versus Italian clubs in the Champions League. The fact that Klopp's men have scored in each of their matches this season shows how prolific they are up front.

AC Milan might well be without talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic heading into this game but they still have the likes of Olivier Giroud and Ante Rebic to step into his role. The Rossoneri have enjoyed a positive start to their league campaign with 3 wins from their opening 3 matches. Head coach Stefano Pioli will be pleased with how his team has adapted to life after Gianliuigi Donnarumma after the keeper left for French Ligue 1 side PSG in the summer. Scoring goals on the road is no problem for Milan given the fact they have only fired a blank in 1 of their last 8 matches on the road.

The history behind this game will evoke memories of epic Champions League encounters of years gone by including the famous 2005 final in Istanbul. It's crazy to think that this is AC Milan's first appearance in the Champions League since 2014 but they have a squad that can cause some real problems for teams in this group. I feel that Liverpool should still navigate their way past this game but it's going to be a fire cracker of a game.
