Real Madrid vs Chelsea

Real Madrid didn’t have a successful weekend as their goalless draw with Betis hurt their title bid. Los Blancos didn’t manage to convert their chances into goals, and now, they don’t hold their fate in La Liga. Zinedine Zidane’s side hasn’t lost since 30th January and their 2:1 defeat against Levante at Alfredo di Stefano Stadium. Despite Sergio Ramos’s absence due to an injury, Real Madrid managed to keep the clean sheet four matches in a row. However, they celebrated only in one, as they were confident in Cadiz, securing a 3:0 win. Real Madrid managed to eliminate Atalanta and Liverpool to reach this stage, and they aim for a place in the finals. A solid defensive display could help them achieve their goals a lot.

Chelsea secured a vital 1:0 victory away to West Ham United last weekend that propelled them to 4th place in the Premier League. Timo Werner ended his goal drought just before halftime, and that one was enough for the visitors to pick up all three points. Thomas Tuchel’s side consolidated in the back, managing to keep the clean sheet in the last three games, including the 1:0 victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals. The Blues are three points ahead of the Hammers and four in front of Liverpool, putting them in a commanding position in the Champions League spot battle. However, Mason Mount and the lads need to improve their finishing, as they netted just twice on the previous four occasions. They need another disciplined performance to secure an active result in this tie.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Both sides have been inconsistent recently, winning derby matches but spilling points when they were firm favorites. It’s going to be a tight clash, but we believe Real Madrid will have enough strength to win this match.

Goals Market Prediction

These two teams have been unbeatable in the back and involved in low-scoring matches recently. We haven’t seen more than a goal in Chelsea’s last four games, while Real Madrid drew 0:0 in three out of the previous four fixtures. Therefore, we expect this game to remain under a 2.5 margin.

Real Madrid vs Chelsea

The Champions League Semi-Finals are here and it's two mouth-watering ties between four of the best clubs in European football. The first of those games is coming up tonight when Spanish La Liga reigning champions Real Madrid play English FA Cup finalists Chelsea in an 8pm BST kick-off on Tuesday night at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano with European glory now within touching distance for both teams.

Real Madrid are aiming to win a fifth Champions League trophy in 8 seasons and a 4th under head coach Zinedine Zidane. Los Blancos are only 2 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid in La Liga and will want to add a Champions League Final to their end of season schedule. The team has a superb record in recent knockout ties in the Champions League having won the first leg in 9 of their last 10 such matches. There is a monkey on the shoulder of Real Madrid here though with the team having faced Chelsea more than any other side in their history without winning. It's been a business-like performance from the club in this competition thus far with Real Madrid finishing top of their group and then eliminating Italian Serie A side Atalanta and reigning Premier League champions Liverpool.

Chelsea come into this game hoping to take at least a draw away from the Spanish capital. The Blues are still firmly in the chase to qualify for next season's Champions League via their domestic league and with the club set to play an FA Cup Final against Leicester it's all setting up nicely to be a season to remember for the London club. Thomas Tuchel's men finished top of their group back when Frank Lampard was in charge and have since disposed of both Spanish La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid and Portuguese reigning champions Porto in the knockout phase. This will be the club's 8th Champions League Semi-Final which is more than any other English club. The team has only lost 1 of their last 7 first legs in previous Champions League Semi-Finals. Tuchel himself has faced Real Madrid four times in this competition and never tasted defeat.

I'm siding with @StefanBB here in the fact that I can't see this being an enthralling affair. I think both teams will be playing cautiously and it could be the odd goal that decides the winner. I can totally understand why Real Madrid are the favourites and I was tempted to back them to get the victory but I think I'm going to have to take a punt on a draw with Chelsea set to grind this one out.

PSG vs Manchester City

The home side had a stern test in the previous round, but they managed to knock out the defending champions on away goals. A 3:2 victory in Munich was enough, despite a 1:0 defeat at Parc des Princes. Mauricio Pochettino’s side celebrated three times in a row, and they produced 11 goals in those matches. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace against Metz last weekend and kept PSG in the title race. The hosts sit in 2nd place, being one point behind Lille and one ahead of Monaco. The title battle is far from over, and PSG needs to keep the highest level of performance at both battlefields. Besides, they will also have a chance to lift Coupe de France after beating Angers 5:0. In the previous two rounds, PSG played the first leg game on the road, and in both cases, they managed to secure the advantage. The Parisiens were defensively oriented at the home ground, failing to beat both Barcelona and Bayern Munich. We are curious to see whether they can book a victory against Man City.

The visitors are very close to clinching the Premier League title, and they can focus entirely on the Champions League battle. Manchester City is full of confidence after lifting the EFL Cup trophy last weekend after beating Tottenham Hotspur. It was the fourth in a row for the Citizens, and although they cannot win the quadruple this season, the most valuable trophies are still in the game. Pep Guardiola’s side had a couple of hiccups lately, but besides getting eliminated from the FA Cup, they won’t hurt them too much. Phil Foden and the lads have been dominant since the beginning of 2021, and they want to crown it with the most valuable trophy. The visitors have already knocked out two german sides, Monchengladbach and Dortmund, and the biggest challenge is ahead of them.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

This game can go either way, and both teams have a chance to win it. PSG has been mainly focused on the counter-attacks in the knockout stage of the competition, and they’ll unlikely change the approach. The Citizens come to Paris with a clean bill of health, and we expect them to get back from this trip undefeated.

Goals Market Prediction

Manchester City has been pretty disciplined this season, and their matches were mainly moderate-scoring ones. Although PSG has been clinical in front of the oppositions’ net lately, this game could stay under a 2.5 margin.

Paris Saint-Germain will desperately hope that victories over Saint-Etienne and Angers marked the beginning of an improved course at the Parc des Princes, but Manchester City have a little more quality than most of their home rivals. Pep's team could and should have scored more against the Spurs at Wembley, but Neymar and Bape are able to break almost any defense in Europe and we can predict a high score to let everything play out at Etihad.

PSG vs Manchester City

The second of the Champions League Semi-Final matches is coming up on Wednesday night at 8pm BST when Ligue 1 reigning champions and 2019/20 Champions League finalists PSG take on Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Parc des Princes in Paris. This is a battle between arguably the two richest clubs in world football and it's probably not understating this tie by saying losing simply isn't an option for either team.

PSG might be struggling to defend their title on the domestic front with Lille giving them a real run for their money but it appears that the team are discovering how to navigate their way through the Champions League. After losing in the final to Bayern Munich last year, there is an even stronger desire from the French side to deliver the trophy this season. The team have had a tough route to this stage having topped a group that included RB Leipzig, Manchester United, and Istanbul Basaksehir before eliminating Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the knockout phase. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has experience of leading teams to the final after his Tottenham team knocked out Manchester City on the way to the 2018/19 final. It's now 19 wins from the last 25 matches in all competitions for PSG. Striker Kylian Mbappe has also bagged 19 goals in his last 14 appearances for the club.

Manchester City will feel that history is awaiting them. The Citizens secured the first of their potential treble on the weekend when they laboured to a 1-0 win over Tottenham in the EFL Cup Final. Pep Guardiola has come under scrutiny for failing to deliver the Champions League for both Bayern Munich and Manchester City so far with it now being 10 years this he last lifted the trophy. City are undefeated in this competition thus far having finished top of a group that contained Porto, Marseille, and Olympiakos before knocking out two German sides in Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund in the past two knockout rounds. The team has won 30 of their previous 33 games in all competitions but have lost 2 of their last 5 matches. Their away record has seen them stand out though with the club winning each of their last 17 away matches in all competitions and winning 11 of their last 16 away games in Europe.

A section of the media is trying to pitch this as a personal battle between Pochettino and Guardiola after their last European encounter in 2019 but when you consider out of their 18 meetings that the Argentine has only prevailed victorious 3 times then it's a bit of a mismatch in the history books. I'm not really able to separate these two sides. I think Manchester City are probably just about favourites to progress over two legs but this one is a tough one to call and I think PSG should be able to take a draw here.

Tonight I think there will be over 2.5 goals between Paris and Manchester.

Manchester will play with possession, I'm sure, but Paris has a monstrous attack with Mbappé, Neymar and Di Maria.

Neymar is playing really well in the big games at the moment and we can see that he wants to play, moreover he is going to stay in Paris for the next years.
Mbappé is very fit, and he should hurt the English defence.

City will be able to rely on De Bruyne and he is a major asset !

I think both teams will score, and there will be over 2.5 Goals

Spot on last night! I was lucky that Benzema's only shot on target was a goal otherwise I'd have struck out. Just on 4-6 cards shown at 23/20 so far tonight; decent bet on the ref's CL stats. Will see if anything else catches my eye.
