Reading

They have got only one victory from Derby County in recent six games, which makes them down to the seventh in the table of the League. It is because their key player, Lucas Joao are not in form, who has scored only one goal in recent games.

Cardiff City

They are in low morale, which have been winless for three matches even suffer a two-match losing streak. They play so well in the beginning of this season, getting a twelve-match unbeaten run. But they lack tenacity and ambitions as time goes by.

Verdict:

There is no big gap between Reading and Cardiff City. Although Reading have home advantage and take the upper hand over Cardiff City in past head-to-head clashes, they are not certain to win as they are in poor condition. It is predicted that they will draw with each other in upcoming game.

Reading VS Cardiff City

Prediction: 0-0, 1-1

Surprised that Blackburn have been pretty well backed in from 1.4/1 into 1.2/1. Annoying to miss the price but I do think they'll beat Derby so I've stuck them in a double with Swansea which comes out at 2.3/1 with Betfred.

Derby could be only 1 point clear of the drop and played a game more come Friday evening!

Reading vs Cardiff

The Championship offers up two early games this weekend on a Friday night with Reading taking on Cardiff in a 6pm BST kick-off at the Madejski Stadium in front of the Sky Sports cameras. The home side are still in with a shout of pushing for a play-off place but hope really has faded into nothingness now for the away team who look set for another season in the second tier of English football.

Reading were the early pace setters in the Championship this season with Veljko Paunovic's men adopting a fortuitous style of play. It was an approach that defied physics with the team far from the top on almost every statistic but yet they seemed to pick up the wins and won 7 of their opening 8 league games. Form has started to slip as the season has progressed and the Royals are now down in 7th place and 5 points off the pace of the play-offs. Just 1 win from their last 6 league games shows exactly why they have fallen out of the automatic promotion talk and now risk falling off the pace of a top six finish.

Cardiff are another team who are seeing their play-off hopes fall away in the final stages of the season. Mick McCarthy's men have been blighted by injuries to their defensive line over recent weeks which has taken a huge hit on their promotion aspirations. The Bluebirds have now won just 1 of their previous 7 league games including failing to win any of their last 3 league matches. It leaves the team down in 8th place and a staggering 12 points off the play-offs with just 5 league games to play. In all honesty, even the most optimistic of City fans is now feeling that it's a missed opportunity. Planning for next season realistically begins now.

I can totally see where @ALEXXXXXXXX is coming from by backing the draw. It feels like neither side has the confidence or capabilities right now to get a win. However, I feel that the injuries affecting Cardiff right now are just too detrimental. I don't feel the fringe players are good enough and that is particularly the case in defence. Reading have a huge chance to give themselves a play-off lifeline here. Will the pressure be too much? I'm almost certain Cardiff won't win this. It just depends whether Reading can. I'll back the draw in hope more than anything but wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Reading take all 3 points.
