At one moment, it seemed the hosts can challenge one of the continental spots. However, the home side picked up just a point from the previous four rounds and slipped to 9th place. It’s still not too late for Farid Boulaya and the lads to book the Europa League ticket, but they need to improve. Lens is seven points ahead, and Metz doesn’t have the right to make more mistakes. The hosts have been pretty tight in the back until recently, but they conceded ten goals in the previous four rounds.
