harry_rag
NRL back tomorrow. Given the scarcity of posts in this section of the forum I think it's fair to say that a single thread will do for any bets on any competitions taking place this year. Not sure I'll have anything on tomorrow's Dragons v Rabbitohs game but thought I'd get the thread started.
harry_rag
Storm v Rabbitohs: 20 points on Graham to score a try at 23/10 with PP Spreads suggest the price is generous and his stats for last season support the view. Seems a reasonable bet to get the thread started.
Labrador
Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eels. Reading through various previews Broncos have changed their coach but not much else after their torrid time last year. It is generally felt that Eels could be a top 4 side again, although they ended last season poorly. Plenty of thundery showers forecast for Brisbane early in the day but set to be a clear dry evening (8.05 pm KO Aussie time). Tempting to go with Eels -6.5 on the handicap but have had a crack at a buy of Eels' multi-points at 156 with Spreadex. harry_rag

Unlucky, had to double check when I saw that both teams' multis apparently made up at 0. Talk about a game of two halves, Roosters v Sea Eagles: 12 points on Gosiewski to score a try at 9/2 with PP (ok at 4/1 in a few places). The only bet that appeals to me in tomorrow's trio of games. Labrador
Terrible weather forecast for Sydney on Saturday where 2 games are set to take place. First is Bulldogs v Panthers at Bankwest Stadium (3pm kick off - Aussie time), and the second is Sea Eagles v Rabbitohs at Lottoland (5.30 pm kick off). Based on the reports of performances so far and previews from Down Under I prefer to bet on the 2nd game which should witness a heavy pitch and heavy rain throughout the entire game. Sea Eagles were very poor last week, and Rabbitohs are widely tipped. However, both tams made a losing start but Rabbitohs improved markedly in the second half after an opening period of much dropped ball and knock-ons. The Aussie pundits expect a low-scoring affair but with some prospect that Rabbitohs could cut loose despite the weather. I could sell multi points at 344, but I'm going with the slightly less potentially profitable option with a sell of cross points. Manly Sea Eagles v South Sydney Rabbitohs: SELL match cross-points at 324 (SX) harry_rag

Manly Sea Eagles v South Sydney Rabbitohs: SELL match cross-points at 324 (SX) A 12 point profit if my grade C O-Level maths is up to scratch, and the right choice of market as multis would've shown a loss. I was on the wrong end of Johnston's try minutes in that game. Labrador
Labrador
Yes, small profit. Should have gone for the other game in Sydney as Bulldogs failed to score, which would have yielded a zero make up (could have sold X-points at 307).
Labrador
Good that Super League is back this evening. Leigh have a daunting start on paper taking on Wigan at neutral Headingley. Wigan seriously depleted in the backs without French, Hastings, Marshall, Gildart , Manfredi etc. However Wigan look very powerful in the pack and could well strangle Leigh up front. At the prices I feel there is a bit of value in Wigan prop Brad Singleton to score a try (7/1 Spreadex). The obvious candidate to score is John Bateman returning from the NRL. However, prices too skinny for my liking (although have had the 50 pence allowed me by Betfair Sportsbook on a Bateman hat-trick at 90/1). harry_rag

harry_rag
Leigh v Wigan: 25 points on Field to score a try at 13/8 PP, 6 on the brace at 10/1 PP and 2 (free bet to use up) on the hattrick at 66/1 Hills Debutant and caught my eye pre line ups as the spreads were 30 to sell which pitched him at around an even money shot. Maybe he should be bigger than that, but not as big as the prices taken. He starts so the bets are on.

Field did shorten to around evens apparently, not that it's any consolation! I've just worked out that your username relates to your tipple of choice after initially reading it as Ginedrinker and assuming it was some Lord of the Rings type thing! Labrador
This evening Castleford v Hull FC looks likely to be a close game in hot conditions given that both sides have had a quick turnaround. With Marc Sneyd (in particular) and Danny Richardson in oppostion there could be a bit of value in a drop goal being kicked. Available at 100/30 with Coral and Bet 365. [Have also taken Hull (-3.5) at 10/11 on the handicap]. Edited June 10, 2021 by Labrador harry_rag
Labrador
Having toyed between betting on a drop goal or a 40/20, there was not even an attempt at a drop goal but inevitably there was a successful 40/20 (was available at 7/2). At least Hull FC easily covered the handicap . Bedlam
Labrador
Leigh are starting to show plenty of spirit and maybe their first win is not that far away. I don't really expect it will come this afternoon against Hull FC but maybe they can continue their recent trend of notching up a few points with nothing to lose. Leigh scored 30 points last time out against leaders Catalan Dragons and previously 20 against Wakefield. Conditions should be good for an open, high-scoring game (albeit against the trend of this round of fixtures which has been a godsend for sellers of multi-points). I've had a buy of Leigh points at 17 (Sporting Index) and all that Betfair Sportsbook will allow (£2.08?) on Leigh forward Ben Hellewell to score a try at 6/1. He has a decent record over his career (much in the Championship admittedly) and has 3 tries in his last 3 outings in Superleague. harry_rag

Labrador
Leigh hammered but at least score 22 points for a 5 points profit? . [No try for Hellewell]. harry_rag
harry_rag
England Women v Wales Women: Sell England Women hotshots for 1 point at 171 with SPIN (Stanley, Goldthorp, Hardcastle, Beevers) Whilst the title of the forum's foremost expert on Women's rugby league is probably hotly contested by me and @Labrador with neither of us claiming any great knowledge, I had to post this one for posterity. Lab knows far more about the sport than me and researches his bets much more diligently. All I'd say is I know more about the markets than the sports and, in my opinion, there are two things to be said about selling hotshots quotes in 3 figures; there aren't many opportunities and they will generally be profitable! My records only include 3 sells at >100, all in RU and showing a profit of 166 points. On a quiet day, I thought I'd offer this one up for posterity. With Rangi Chase having aleady quit West Wales Raiders (what a surprise!) I'm looking at the handicap when they entertain (sic) Hunslet tomorrow at 3 pm. The visitors might be able to cover a 48 points handicap but I'm not sure I can trust them sufficiently to put any cash down. Chase has reportedly gone to Rochdale Hornets who host North Wales Crusaders on Sunday. Hoping for a decent play on Rochdale when handicaps emerge, since I'm sure Rangi will be outstanding for them for a couple of games at least until something "goes wrong" for him. harry_rag
harry_rag
11 tries for England so perhaps a little fortunate that the hotshots only got 2 of them. Made up at 50 for a profit of 121 points.

harry_rag
Warrington v Leeds: 3.3 points e/w on Currie 1st tryscorer at 19/1 PP ("places" are the 1st 3 tries) 12 points on Currie to score a try at 5/2 Betway Decent looking RP tip that also looks big in comparison to the spreads. harry_rag
NSW v Queensland: 15 points on Wighton to score a try at 5/2 with 365 Sub 2/1 in most places, looks an ok bet even if his stats this season are a bit of a dip from his career ones. BTW - is it just me that can never access NRL or State of Origin matches on the exchange even when they're shown on Oddschecker as offering markets? Tried on phone and laptop. @Labrador can you find it?

harry_rag
Wigan v Leigh: 20 points on Farrell to score a try at 6/4 PP (13/8 of you can get on with BFS) No more than evens elsewhere and odds on in most places. As I often say (possibly paraphrasing the X-Files) I suspect the true price is somewhere in the middle.

harry_rag
Leeds v Warrington: 20 points on Myler to score a try at 21/10 with Uni (or Lads). Both go top price 2/1 with the option of a boost. A reasonable bet if not as clear cut value as the previous one.
