Punters Lounge Exclusive £150 added Poker League - December Leg 4 - Wed 23rd December - NLHE

Punters Lounge is pleased to continue for December with our £150 added Poker League.  We run on Wednesday nights starting at 8.10pm, with a 20min late registration period on top of this.  All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club. 

This month we are again trialing a bounty game in our format in Leg 2.  League points will be calculated only on finishing position, and bounty payouts will be made according to PokerStars normal rules.  This month is a Progressive Bounty (your own bounty increases by 50% of the bounties you collect).  We will review popularity of the two formats after this.  Leg 1 and 4 are standard NLHE, and Leg 3 is our PLO Leg.

 > Leg 1 : Wednesday 2nd December at 20.10 GMT in the PL Poker Club Home Game - NLHE 3000 chips

 > Leg 2 : 9th December - NLHE 3000 Chips Progressive Bounty

 > Leg 3 : 16th Decemober - PLO 5000 chips

 > Leg 4 : 23rd December - NLHE 5000 chips - double entrants in formula **

Buy in is $5.50 per leg.

Your top 3 scores of the 4 legs will count towards your league total. We will be using the usual PL poker league format, which will be updated in this thread. (The PokerStars own league scores will not be used.) Formula is -Log(position/Entrants)x100

To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 4 (**so if 10 entries the formula will use 20 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive.

All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league.  New players are always welcome to join in, so please spread the word and invite your friends so we can keep the weekly numbers up.

£150 Added Value

The £150 added will be split between the top 3 players of the league end, with £75 to the league champion, £45 to 2nd and £30 to 3rd.  This will be payable via PayPal at the end of the league.  Big thank you to SirPuntalot and Punters Lounge for the added funds.  The league winner will also get Punters Lounge merchandise.

Well done to muttley on the win , and well done to Fusilier14 in second, but we still need to know who you are please, we need you to post here on the forum. 

Also to packofcards. I know you have posted on the facebook group, but also need you to post here in the forum to show your Punters Lounge user name.

Please would members playing at their table in coming weeks remind them we need them to post.

 

This week's leg is a Progressive Knockout NLHE bounty game.  League points will only be allocated on the tournament finishing position, and amount of winnings will not be relevant.  Bounties will be paid out according to PokerStars normal rules.  In Progressive Bounty half your bounty is paid to the person knocking you out, and half is added to their own bounty.

Nice1 Ian for posting, had 6 tables on and most were 6 handed tables so was pretty busy! Only just finished for the night.

Well done Leo nice win and bounty payout, although it does look like the bounties were shared out a bit more this month than last time.

Muttley holds onto the league top spot but no-one out of it yet.  Next week is PLO week so time for another skill set!

In answer to Avongirl's question, I am enjoying the Bounty leg, and would like to see it continue. The numbers seem to be holding up, so i assume there's no great opposition to it. Obviously, if numbers begin to fall we could switch back.

Re Progressive v Normal Bounty. I have no preference.

Just to add some balance, I've never been a huge fan of bounty tournaments, I've always found them to be gimmicky and unnecessary. The bounty element adds nothing to the overall skill level and adversely alters the general dynamic.

It's unlikely that those who dislike the bounty tourney will boycott it, as to do so would be to sabotage their chances of league success. 

I'm happy to go with the majority... just having my tuppence worth.

My (limited) experience of bounty tournaments is that players put way too much importance on winning a bounty, and so call off too wide, or are too willing to play for stacks. This is particularly true in the later stages of non-progressive bounty tourneys.

There are a few adjustments you should make, so I wouldn't say that bounties add nothing to the skill level.

Love PKO's Progressive is more fun IMO, its great to have a variety. Dynamics change a lot but that adds to the fun factor & also because its in our league format, it changes things even further

And he's back! Kevsul takes the honours in the PLO leg and storms up to the top of the league table   and runner up PotRooster moves up into a challenging position. 

So it's all to play for in the final leg next week and virtually anyone could move up onto the podium to grab some added value.

It's back to NLHE and we have a 5000 chip stack to throw around again.

Well done to Dave on the final leg win   Just fell short of making the added value league places thanks to a good finish also from Paul and Leo keeping them up at the top of the league.  Well done to Paul our league champ
