January was not kind, maybe February will be better. Getting on a bit early this week, 1 for the value and 2 because I don't have much time.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still no winners, and I'm conscious of the fact that I'm more than half way to admitting defeat. But 5 or 6 weeks to go, and 1 good win can change everything. On to Pebble Beach...

Peter Malnati  2.5 points ew @ 60/1

Max Homa   1 point ew @ 33/1

Francesco Molinari 1 point ew @ 22/1

Bank: - 57.5

3 points returned from Max Homa.

Thinking of a change of tactics. I had a big 300 point win by betting the Group Winners market on Paddy at the weekend. I used the same selection process, but applied it slightly different. So I'm going to see how it goes for a few weeks, and if I'm on to something then that could be a new thread when this one dies!

On to Genesis Invitational...

J Niemann 1 point ew @ 40/1

M Leishman 1 point ew @ 50/1

C Ortiz 1 point ew @ 60/1

8 places, 1/5 odds

Bank: - 60.5

In the last few weeks I've backed Berger, he won the following week, and backed Homa, won the following week. Based on this rotten luck one of last weeks picks will win this week!

However, I'm sticking to the rules. This weeks most tipped are:

Puerto Rico Open

Scott Brown 1 point ew @ 75/1

Workday Championship

Viktor Hovland 2.5 points ew @ 22/1

7 places

Bank: - 67.5

Hovland returns 13.5 with a T2 finish, and could have been a whole lot more if he hadn't quadruple bogeyed the 18th on day 2!

I think where I have gone wrong with this is by following too many tipsters. When I was previously doing this with some success, I was only following maybe 10 tipsters. In the last few months this has risen to nearly 30! I need to whittle this down to get that winning formula back.

Arnold Palmer Invitational

J Kokrak 1 point ew @ 45/1

F Molinari 1 point ew @ 40/1

M NeSmith 1 point ew @ 125/1

8 places, 1/5 odds

All very close for most tipped, so got some early prices and will probably add 1 or 2 more tomorrow.

Bank: - 60

More 18th hole misery, as Kokrak drops 5 shots on it in 4 days. Only a tied place for a 5 point return.

Players Championship up next.

C Kirk 0.5 ew @ 175/1

P Cantlay 2 ew @ 22 /1

C Bezuidenhout 1 ew @ 60/1

A Ancer 1 ew @ 66/1

T Fleetwood 1 ew @ 45/1*

P Casey 1 ew @ 55/1*

J Thomas 3.5 ew @ 14/1**

10 places, * 8 places, ** 7 places W/O big 6 Skybet.

Bank: - 75

Was going to do Qatar, but that was before I realised I've just done 20 points on this! I'll have a look tomorrow.

Lots of early previews out there, probably because a lot of them have one eye on Cheltenham. I'm the same, so I've gone with the popular picks so far.

Honda Classic

J Niemann 2 points ew @ 22 /1

S Lowry 1 point ew @ 28/1

KH Lee 0.5 points ew @ 66/1

Kenya Open

G Higgo 1 point ew @ 40/1

All 8 places

Bank: - 4

A quick turnaround in Kenya. Not a favourite with the tipsters, probably time being the biggest factor. Slim pickings out there, but there are 3 players fancied:

S Horsfield 2.5 points ew @ 22/1 6 places

J Catlin 1 point ew @ 55/1 7 places

O Lieser 0.5 point ew @ 110/1 7 places

Bank: -12

A couple of fancies for the Puntacana Championship:

T McCumber 0.5 point ew @ 45/1

T Potter 0.5 point ew @ 66/1

7 places

And a few for the WGC Dell Championship:

J Spieth 1 point ew @ 22/1

C Smith 0.5 point ew @ 33/1

R Henley 0.5 point ew @ 66/1

8 places

Group winners acca:

Rahm, Rozner, Casey, Hovland 0.5 point @ 74/1

Bank: -18.5

After some decent recent returns, it all went to pot last week! Still, The Masters is always easy to get a winner!

Decided to mix it up a bit this week. Gone for the most tipped, but in a certain price range. Trying to get a bit of each way value with the extra places on offer.

J Thomas 5pt win @ 11/1

J Rahm 3pt win @ 12/1

P Casey 2.5pt ew @ 30/1

M Fitzpatrick 1.5pt ew @ 40/1

R Palmer 1pt ew @ 125/1

Bank: - 34

🤞🏻
