Trotter
After Love yesterday today it's Battaash ruled out of Longchamp The best sprinter in Europe flopped in last year's Abbaye on very soft ground and connections are pulling him out as the likely conditions become testing

Bathtime For Rupert
1.15 Hexham - 2pts win Ballymilan @ 13/2 Bet365 Goes handicapping off a fair mark and has improved substantially in his last two runs to finish well behind some decent enough types. Has come home strongly on both occasions and the ground here is again on the good side which suits. Hexham looks sure to suit better than those sharper tracks and the longer straight can only benefit him up against a favourite who has climbed the weights quite considerably and may be coming to the end of its run. 1.35 Fontwell - 1pt e/w First Lord De Cuet @ 8/1 Bet365 Was decent in novices last year and looks off a fair mark on that evidence. Didn't get home over 2m5f in a hot race when last seen but returns with conditions to suit and the ease in the ground will help him too. Likely to go off from close to the front and think he'll take some pegging back today. 3.05 Ascot - 2pts win Ebury @ 4/1 PP Well backed this morning and I can see why. Was 1st in his group when running very well at Royal, Ascot and didn't get much luck when staying on at Sandown last time. Conditions are spot on here, soft ground suits and Ray Dawson's 5lb claim makes him look very attractive here. 4.50 Ascot - 1pt e/w Fresh @ 15/2 Bet365 Looks a lot of pace on here and that will play into the hands of Fresh who sees this out well and has been in rock solid form lately. Travelled well through the race at Doncaster last time when just failing to reel in the leaders but wasn't beaten far and they might come back to him a bit more today. Still looks fairly treated and whilst not totally proven on soft ground, it was good to soft in places at Doncaster and he got through that fine so will chance him at a decent price. Loss of £2 and balance c/fwd is now £650.69 (Bank £800) Actually had a 50/1 shot winner today bit only had 30p on it. This paid £11.55 as Sportsbook deducted 25p in the £ for non-runner(s). Also an insurance bet won and returned £3.00. Hence a total return of £14.55 which meant a loss of £12.00. The balance C/Fwd is now £212.22 (£400 Bank. Nb I didn't update results yesterday so have included results in my c/fwd figures. The top flat jockeys appear to be at Newmarket tomorrow so that should be interesting. I'm not interested in the French racing over the weekend. seems to me that the going is already described as being "Heavy" so may be racing may not go ahead. No concern to me if it does or doesn't. I have only been following the top in form jockeys' and apprentices for a few days now and can already see there are gaps emerging between the so-called form horses and those that seem to win with professed little chance of winning. I am still finding my feet with my new strategy and as anyone can see I am having difficulty choosing between the selections on offer. I will probably start to cut back on the so called top jock/in form horses (or just include those in Trixies). This can leave me to focus on possible dark horses for win bet purposes. Should be fun Edited October 2, 2020 by The Equaliser RESULTS UPDATE
