StevieDay1983
Bordeaux vs Lyon A few matches took my fancy in Ligue 1 this week but the one game that stood out as a bit of a risky one but possibly worth the value was the 8pm Friday night clash between Bordeaux and Lyon at the Matmut Atlantique. The home side have started their league campaign well but have they got enough to see off a visiting side that are riding the crest of a wave after their Champions League run last season? Bordeaux have kicked off their domestic season with one win and one draw. Head coach Jean Louis Gasset oversaw his team draw 0-0 at home to Nantes before sealing a 2-0 victory away against Angers. Two clean sheets to begin the league season can't be argued. This start to the campaign means that it's now just 1 defeat in their last 10 league matches. There is still a feeling that the team was a little cautious under former head coach Paulo Sousa and the jury is still out on whether that mentality has changed under the new manager. It's 6 draws from their last 10 matches but we'll see over the coming weeks if that will change. Lyon will still be buzzing after their journey to the Champions League Semi-Final back in August. It seems an age ago but head coach Rudi Garcia must try to build on that achievement for this season. Last year's 7th placed finish due to the season being cancelled means there's no European commitments for the club so the players can focus all their attention and energy on the league. Their efforts started well with a 4-1 win at home to Dijon. However, it only 3 wins from their last 8 league matches so it will be key for the team to notch up back-to-back wins if they're to truly believe this is a fresh start. It's great to write these previews knowing that the schedule is a little more consistent now. Yes, the situation in different countries remains uncertain and anxious but it's good to have the escapism of football back. This is a game I think will give us a better idea of whether we'll see more of the Lyon from the Champions League or the Lyon from last season's Ligue 1. If they win this game then would it be too early to tout them as serious contenders to qualify for the Champions League? I think they could win too but it'll be a tight game. StefanBB
Hello everybody! I'm a new member in this community, representing my tipsters website. I'll be trying to post at last one daily football tip from the most popular leagues. For the beginning, I'm posting my prediction for the clash between Bordeaux vs Lyon Bordeaux had a disappointing campaign last time as they finished in 12th place. Although they were just four points behind the 6th placed Reims, the hosts couldn’t do better than the bottom half of the table. Jean-Louis Gasset’s side was doing pretty well in front of the oppositions’ goal, but they spilled too many points in draw matches. The hosts are hoping for a much better campaign this year, and their start of the season is encouraging. Les Girondins picked up four points from the first two rounds, and they managed to keep the clean sheet in both games. This time, they are facing the strongest opponent so far, and this match is going to be the first severe test of their character. The visitors were the biggest underachievers last season as they finished the campaign in the 7th spot. Although they had an ultimately good season in the Champions League, they failed to ten defeats in 28 rounds of the Ligue 1. Since the season didn’t continue after the Covid-19 break, Lyon couldn’t book the place in the continental competitions for the current one. However, the away side had a strong start thanks to a 4:1 home win over Dijon. Memphis Depay showed that he is more than ready for new challenges as he scored a hat-trick in that game. Lyon finally wants to challenge PSG for the title, and we will see if they are capable of doing that. Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction Although both sides have been very good at the start of the season, we believe the visitors are slight favorites in this clash, and they should get back home with another three points. Goals Market Prediction Although Bordeaux has been involved in tight matches so far without conceding a goal, this time, they are going to face an attacking force. Their recent head to head clashes have been pretty efficient, and on the last 11 occasions, one of the sides managed to keep its net intact only once. We believe that both sides are capable of scoring once again.
