modelman Posted June 29, 2020 Share Posted June 29, 2020 (edited) Can anyone advise me on whether binary regression is better than using the ranking in regression ? for example if we use speed as a factor and there are 10 runners in the race instead of using ranked order of 1 to 10, being 1 is fastest and 10 is slowest can we take the mean as a cutoff and allot 1 for first 5 and 0 for last 5 ?
