Manchester City vs Burnley

The final Premier League game of the weekend comes up at 8pm BST tonight when Manchester City will look to drag the title race out for a little bit longer by attempting to earn a second win within a week against a spirited Burnley side. The visitors will simply be looking to take another step closer to consolidating their place in the top flight of English football.

Manchester City came back from the covid-19 suspension with a bang against Arsenal. Even before David Luiz received his marching orders it was looking like there'd only be one winner in that game last Wednesday. Questions were asked about City's motivations heading into the match but they were swiftly answered in emphatic fashion. Pep Guardiola will now seek to reduce the gap with league leaders Liverpool to 20 points. It's all a bit redundant but it keeps the anticipation going for a bit longer. The most intriguing statistic, and probably unsurprising, is that the Citizens have kept a clean sheet in 75% of the games that Aymeric Laporte has played in compared to just 24% of games when he hasn't played. The team has also scored an average of 2.57 goals at home in the league this season.

Burnley currently sit in 11th place and I think, realistically, they are safe on 39 points. Sean Dyche will be looking to end his team's season in as fine form as possible. The Clarets were unbeaten in 7 league games before the break but their away form remains underwhelming. The team has lost 5 of their last 10 away league games and have failed to score in 50% of those 10 matches. One positive note is that Burnley have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 league games. They'll need to call on that defensive stability for this game against one of the best attacking sides in European football.

I feel like this is a game where we have to back Manchester City to take the win. Burnley have been known to cause Guardiola a few headaches down the years but that's mainly been at Turf Moor. City's record at home is far more comprehensive and their display last Wednesday made me think they're going to finish this season in superb form. I can see a 2-3 goal win for the home side in this one.

Tottenham were pretty good with United, they are strengthened by the return of Harry Kane and Sean. West Ham are quite vulnerable defensively and I don't see them getting points today
