Initially is for balloting out purposes, the 2yo races will be way over subscribed so trainers can nominate a horse that would take preference in the procedure, so in affect making sure they get a run prior to the big 2yo race at Ascot. Longer term it may pay to follow these 'early' types for a month, its a rare chance to see a trainers hand before he plays it? Especially those that have only nominated one.
