Winning Heart Posted May 13, 2020 Share Posted May 13, 2020 Happy Valley Track Spy, May 13 Video Replay Stars Race 7 Number 1 VICTORIAM Had no luck in running at this track and distance 14 days ago after jumping from barrier 12, racing very wide in the early stages until the 550m mark, at which point he sat outside the leader. While all this unfolded, the early sectionals were run fast enough to suit those from off the pace, with first and second closing off from well back, so Victoriam did well to hold for fifth, beaten just two lengths. Victoriam comes into a better barrier this week (stall no.7) and with Purton taking the ride for the first time, his chances look to immensely improve. Race 9 Number 4 COT CAMPBELL His last start sixth placing was better than it reads as he raced without luck in the straight, so you can put the pen through the run. He was badly held up for clear running from on straightening until passing the 200m, and again held up for a run approaching the 100m and was shifted out to obtain clear running over the concluding stages, so he arguably could have finished much closer than he did. One to follow this week as he continues to slide down the handicap and should be finding the winner’s circle soon. Sectional Time Stars Race 2 Number 3 ROMAN IMPERO Overlook last run as he was ridden outside of his comfort zone on pace in a fast run race, in which he was entitled to fade. Prior to that, he showed glimpses of returning a winner closing off nicely into fourth. Has to be respected in Class 4 and is more than capable to surprising here. Race 8 Number 2 CINQUANTE CINQ Flashed home the fastest at his last start over 1650m, but that doesn’t win you races if you stand too much ground at the 400m…which he did; he was 6 1/4 lengths off the lead speed at that mark and missed by a half-length on the wire to Acclaimed Light, who was within striking range at the 400m, just 3 1/4 lengths astern.
