StevieDay1983
Santana vs Ypiranga AP OK, so things are a little surreal now but we'll endeavour to try and find some value in the football games that are taking place still. In Brazil, a number of matches have already been postponed but the Campeonato Amapaense charges on. This game between bottom-placed Santana and top spot chasing Ypiranga AP kicks off at 8pm GMT tonight at the Estadio Municipal de Santana. Santana haven't had the best of starts to their state championship campaign. Edinho Carvalho's men are rock bottom of the group after an opening game 3-1 loss to league leaders Santos AP. There is still plenty of time to turns things around but they face a huge challenge against the 2018 Campeonato Amapaense champions. The last state title this side won was back in 1985 and this season will very much be about remaining competitive. The defensive display in the first game leaves a lot to be desired though and that leaves even the most optimistic Santana fan sceptical about their team's chances this season. Ypiranga AP head into this game heavily backed by the bookies and it's easy to see why. A solid 1-0 victory in their opening state championship game against Macapa showed that they have a defensive unit that has the potential to win them the state championship. Head coach Jason Rodrigues will want to see more from his attacking talents in this game because if they're as impotent in front of goal again then they might not come away from this game with all 3 points. It seems strange covering a game in Brazil where I'm going to back a side to win based on their defensive prowess. Santana could be in for a tough old state championship campaign based on early indications. Ypiranga AP will certainly feel they can give the title a crack but they'll face stern opposition from the likes of Sao Paulo and Santos AP. I think backing them to earn another clean sheet here is worth a bet.
