StevieDay1983
In the absence of other leagues around the world being active due to the coronavirus outbreak, we're covering the A-League matches every week for the time being. If it proves popular, we might keep doing that. Here are the latest odds and ratings for the next week's matches anyway. Tell us your thoughts if you're betting on these games. StevieDay1983
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC The A-League matches carry on for the time being despite some fixtures being postponed. It feels good to come back to this league after we covered it in-depth a couple of seasons ago. Our first preview covers the match between a struggling Western Sydney Wanderers side and league leaders Sydney FC in an 8:30am GMT kick-off on Saturday morning at the Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta. Western Sydney Wanderers had endured an awful start under ex-manager and former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel. The German was relieved of his duties on 20th January with the club in deep trouble and the reigns have been handed over to caretaker manager Jean-Paul de Marigny. The club has only lost 1 of their 6 league matches since the change of management. Wanderers are now in 8th place and just 2 points outside qualification for the Finals Series so all is not yet lost. Sydney FC are flying this season. Manager Steve Corica has led his team to the top of the table and 10 points clear of 2nd placed Melbourne City with 2 league games in hand. The league title and qualification for the AFC Champions League group stage is looking like a solid bet. The club has won 7 of their last 9 league games and are undefeated in their last 7 away league games including winning the last 4 on the bounce. This won't be an easy game for Sydney FC but I think they've shown enough so far to make them a decent bet for the win here. Western Sydney Wanderers are still a fair shout to qualify for the Finals Series under de Marigny but they're still likely to fall short in matches like this against a team that has been so dominant in the league so far. It'll be a close outcome but I'm backing the away win. Sydney FC to Win @ 2.10 with Betfair BTTS @ 1.61 with Bet365 four-leaf
