Lazio vs Verona

A midweek treat of a Serie A game is coming up on Wednesday night when title-chasing Lazio host European qualification chasing Verona in a 7:45pm GMT kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico. The home side has dragged themselves back into the race to win the league this season with an amazing spell of results but in this latest challenge they face a visiting side that have the potential to put a spanner in the works.

Lazio's outstanding undefeated streak continues with the club now without a loss in 16 league matches. Simone Inzaghi is working miracles at the capital city club and they are now in 3rd place and just 5 points behind league leaders Juventus with a game in hand. There were concerns that the 1-1 draw away to local rivals Roma would put a dent in their form but the convincing 5-1 victory against SPAL in their next game eradicated those fears. The team comes into this game having won 9 and drawn 2 of their 11 home league games including winning their last 7 home league matches.

Verona have gone slightly under the radar this season. Ivan Juric has seen his team rise to 9th in the table and just 2 points off the pace of the automatic Europa League qualification spots. An unbeaten run in the league of 6 matches over Christmas and the New Year has helped to keep them nipping at the heels of the likes of Cagliari, Parma, and AC Milan. However, just 3 wins from their 10 away league games this season shows their performances on the road must improve if they're to make the leap into the top six.

I have to say that Lazio are unreal right now. You have to back them to win at home right now. Whatever Inzaghi is doing with his players at the moment is working effectively. The free-flowing attacking football is delivering goals and even though they're still behind Juventus and Inter Milan it's a huge credit to the staff and players that they've turned the title race into a three way.

Bologna scored 18 of 22 goals
Roma scored 14 of 22 goals
Roma are a jersey and home favorite, but it will not be an easy task, as Bologna is in better shape. I will go for goals, both teams score big, score and easily score, expect to find at least one goal to confirm the match.
AS ROMA vs BOLOGNA @@ Both team to score, odds 1.55

I expect Christian Ronaldo to score in this fight. The 35-year-old superstar has 22 goals in 28 games this season and is in excellent shape right now. Ronaldo has found the back of the net in each of the last nine Serie A games. He could break Battista's record from the 1994/95 season, when the Argentine striker scored in 11 consecutive Serie A. matches. try to score against Verona, Brescia and Spal to break the record of 12 matches. One way or another Juventus will find a way out of Verona with three points of victory
HELLAS VERONA vs JUVENTUS TURIN @@ JUVENTUS TURIN, odds 1.60
