Rolemat Posted December 7, 2019 Share Posted December 7, 2019 John Dance the prominent owner and sponsor stated that "Certain Owners" should be banned from backing their own horses in the wake of Adam McCormack having a bit of a touch on his own horse Little Rory Mac.One of the most crass and stupid comments I have ever heard in relation to horse racing or betting.Had he laid the horse and then boasted on Social Media I could understand the furore,that would indicate ripping off ordinary punters. The fact is though he indicated the horse might be worth a punt to the Social Media world,albeit as an ew which imo proves he is not a budding pro punter nor very savvy in the lines of betting unless of course that was as tongue in cheek as his other tweets? Open to question but the bottom line is that John Dance's suggestion is not only ludicrous it would put many off having a horse in training or becoming involved in a syndicate as in his world they would be banned from betting on their "own horse",so who between the two is casting the sport in the wrong light based on their comments?
