StevieDay1983
Anderlecht vs Cercle Brugge OK, so I'm feeling brave this weekend. All season, I've been keen to avoid Anderlecht as they've adjusted to life under Vincent Kompany but I'm now taking the plunge and previewing their game against Cercle Brugge that is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm GMT from the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium with Franky Vercauteren in charge now. Anderlecht really struggled at the beginning of the season when Kompany was at the helm. The club failed to win under his management and things didn't really improve under Welshman Simon Davies. However, Vercauteren has come in and steadied the ship with the club now notching up 3 wins and 2 draws across all domestic competitions. It has lifted the club to 12th in the table and away from the relegation zone but there is still a lot of recovery work to be done. Cercle Brugge sit rock bottom of the Belgian First Division A with just 4 points from their 13 league matches so far. Bernd Storck was appointed as the club's new manager last month but results have continued to fail to materialise. He managed to earn his first point last week in the 2-2 draw at home to Royal Excel Mouscron but this is a huge step up in quality in opposition. I think the appointment of Storck is a very shrewd one by Cercle Brugge. They are now 7 points adrift from 14th place but it's not too late to fix it. The club face a team that are slightly further ahead in their recovery process so I think this could be another tough weekend but I expect to see positive progress from them over the coming weeks as Storck settles in. Anderlecht -1 @ 2.00 with Coral Anderlecht HT/FT @ 2.10 with Coral @laprikon, @VYA, @Magic0024, @the bastardian, @ElPrincipito007, @Chaserapp, and @Marc Kearney.
