However they have enough quality for Bundesliga data and only have upward glances and nothing less. Even a small abstention can always affect football players, but it's a couple that can offer spectacle and plenty of goals on either side. Borussia Monchengladbach lead the way which says it all. No offence to their fans, of course! Our preview this week focuses on the battle between two sides hoping to qualify for European competition when Hoffenheim play Schalke 04 in a 5pm BST kick-off this Sunday afternoon at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena. Hoffenheim are probably just performing below their high expectation levels this season. Head coaches Frank Briel and Dr Peter Gorlich have guided the team to 12th in the table with just 8 points from their 7 league games to date. A shock 2-1 win away to Bayern Munich in their last league game has left a feelgood factor around the club but before that their only win this season came back on 24th August. Did the Bayern victory simply paper over the cracks? Schalke 04 continue to be a team on the rise in German football. Failure to qualify for the Champions League last season was disappointing but it seems that the ownership are intent on rectifying that. David Wagner has been brought in and the former Huddersfield manager has led his side to 6th in the table and just 2 points off the league leaders. 14 goals in 7 league games shows their attacking intent and it's now a run of 5 league games without a loss. Is something special building here? This game is a close one to call but had Hoffenheim not won their last game I think Schalke 04 might even be coming into this at far lower odds. Still, we see it time and time again that after an epic score clubs can sometimes suffer a hangover. I think Schalke 04, at the price being offered, are worth backing as a draw no bet option. I think they could win this and Hoffenheim will go back to struggling to picking up victories.
