StevieDay1983
Club Brugge vs KAA Gent A huge game is taking place in Belgian First Division A this weekend when league leaders Club Brugge take on third-placed KAA Gent in a 1:30pm BST kick-off on Sunday afternoon at the Jan Breydel Stadium. Both of these teams have got their eyes on a potential league title battle this season along with Standard Liege and a number of dark horses. Who will prevail victorious here? Club Brugge are enjoying a vintage season with Philippe Clement leading his beloved team to the top of the domestic league table and also having the joy of managing them in the Champions League. Unbelievably, the team has gone undefeated so far this season with 20 points earned from their 8 league games so far and two draws against Galatasaray and Real Madrid in Europe's elite club competition helping them to live the dream. KAA Gent will also feel this season has started particularly well. Head coach Jess Thorup has guided his side to 3rd in the league table with 17 points from their 8 league games meaning they are just 3 points off the pace being set by the impressive Club Brugge. A win here would really turn things on their head. The unfortunate statistic is that KAA Gent have their issues on the road having failed to win a single of their 3 matches away from home in the league. Decent form in the Europa League is seemingly coming at a cost of their away form in the league. The price on a home win is slightly lower than I had hoped but I'm still backing Club Brugge to do it. They are playing like a team that could potentially walk this league this season. Their form in the Champions League is also proof that they're a team with big ambitions. Not only do they want to become a dominant force in Belgian football but they also want to compete with the biggest teams in Europe. A home win here seems sensible and I think they could put 2 or 3 on KAA Gent.
