Hi all,

Going to start documenting greyhound selections in here and see how we go - I favour graded races so most of my selections will be from the bags cards and find I do better at certain tracks - largely the more galloping circuits with longer runs to the first bend (though some exceptions do exist) so will see a particular favour for the likes of Hove, Sunderland, Newcastle, Monmore and Nottingham.

Let's see how we go :)

11.03 Belle Vue - 2pts win Hazy Melody (T2)

Likely to go off a short price but has the best time in the field, is in the best recent form and should be able to see of T1 in the run-up to the first bend - great chance of leading more or less throughout.

11.34 Belle Vue - 2pts win Somerset Belle (T4)

On the way back after an absence but should be primed now for this and has run very promising races since returning - a good time in a trial two starts back and then ran a good race in A7 company despite an uncharacteristically slow start and finding trouble. Has to avoid being sandwiched in the run-up/at the bend but if she gets round handy enough, can take some stopping.

12.04 Belle Vue - 1pt win Ballymac Hawkin (T1)

This one should go off at a decent price here and hasn't been in great form recently but his back form is strong for this level and has had excuses lately - has found trouble at the first bend the last twice and before that was running sound races in the higher grade. If he can hold his position on the rail, could go close.

12.27 Sunderland - 2pts win Witton Daisy (T2)

Has found trouble on each of her last four starts but I think she can get a clear today with T1 slower into the first bend and if holding off the 3 into the corner, can turn up the boost down the back and see these off - clocked a fast time in a trial a few starts back and anything like a repeat should suffice.

12.33 Belle Vue - 2pts win Earslikedumbo (T6)

Consistent runner at this level and can get a solo out wide here - strong runner can come into the picture towards the final couple of bends before picking them up. With a fair start and a clear run, should win.

1.51 Belle Vue - 2pts win Universal Jet (T2)

Drops in grade here after some good efforts in better company - his two clear runs recently would see him land this with a repeat so will have to see off T1 at the bend but if turning handy, can pick these up down the back.

Couple of hard luck stories and a couple of winners. Had hoped for a bit more but hey ho.

Ballymac Hawkin a 7/2 winner and Universal Jet came in at 6/4.

11pts staked, 9.5pts returned = -1.5pts.

2.26 Perry Barr - 1pt win Blue Act (T3)

Has been a magnet for trouble recently but has a better make up today with slow-risers on either side and could hit the bend handy today. If doing so, should have the all-round pace to see these off.

2.44 Perry Barr - 2pts win Hello There (T5)

Form in August would be sufficient to win this in higher grades before getting battered from pillar to post on his return last time out. The 6 dog will be out of his way early given that one's early pace but with a clear out wide, can pick that one up and the remainder later in the piece.

3.04 Perry Barr - 1pt win Stoneparkwarrior (T1)

This represents a drop in grade today having been running in OR with credit despite finding pockets of trouble. Fairly unexposed around here and can follow the 2 round with that one setting it up nicely for the selection given its likely early supremacy.

4.58 Perry Barr - 2pts win Barnfield Bolt (T1)

Best form in the field and simply ought to win this with a bit of luck. Tempered the stake down on this one as not guaranteed he'll get a nice run into the opening corner, but if close enough, should be capable of taking this.

7.42 Newcastle - 1pt win Harton Jet (T5)

Bit of a value bet this one, albeit does come with risks attached. Highly likely to be behind at the first bend but any trouble up ahead will suit this strong runner. Has a good chance on the clock and if he can get round clean, should make presence felt up the long straight at Newcastle.

7.57 Newcastle - 2pts win Havana Hottie (T2)

Has the best time in this field and has been in cracking form of late. A repeat of recent runs would see this one go very close. Another strong runner who will have to find the gaps but if enjoying a clear, can pick these up late in the day.

8.29 Newcastle - 1pt win Snazzy Reaction (T5) @ 4/1 (Ladbrokes)

A good race this but a lot of these will need to lead to win, but Snazzy Reaction is stronger than most of these and has times in the book that would match the best of these despite finding trouble of late - even these disrupted times are competitive with the clear run times of the remainder and looks a good price.

8.44 Newcastle - 1pt win Pandoras Dave (T2) @ 4/1 (Ladbrokes)

Make-up looks good here for the blue with a fair few middle to wide or wide runners and this one likely to hold the rail ahead of T1. Consistent type who should have a clear here and on times will go very close indeed.

Looks a nice little Lucky 15 too here hopefully.

7.42 Nottingham - 2pts win Ballybeg Dart (T4)

Consistent type who hasn't been outside of the first 3 in previous 5 starts, winning once. Has comfortably the best time in this field and hopefully won't find as much trouble today with a slow starter on its outside. A clear run at the first and this one will take a lot of beating.

8.44 Nottingham - 1pt win Keeperhill Kirby (T2)

Fairly competitive race but the blue has been in good form lately with its runs in the 30.70s a few starts back enough to land this. Has run well despite finding pockets of trouble the last twice but can see off T1 into the first bend and if holding position on the rail, can take some pegging back.

8.59 Nottingham - 1pt win Honour Hawk (T2)

I personally see the 3 dog as the danger in this race with the 4's best recent time coming after an uncharacteristically good start which hasn't been replicated since. T2 will have to ride a bit of luck at the bend on sectionals but form is good and this consistent type can land the spoils with a dollop of luck.

9.14 Nottingham - 1pt win Sandyhill Dolly (T2)

Another pick in the blue and similar profile to Honour Hawk - very consistent type but has been finding spots of trouble in pretty much all recent runs. Despite this, times have been good and if she doesn't get knocked from pillar to post tonight can get a much deserved victory.

1.47 Romford - 2pts win Mallogs Darcy (T2)

Not had much luck of late, finding trouble or having to come from behind last time but can turn handy on the shoulder of the 4 and 6 today and turn up the heat down the back. If avoiding bother will take the beating.

2.07 Romford - 2pts win Mandys Candy (T6)

This looks between the 4 and the 6 for me and much will depend on who holds the early supremacy but I think the 6 can beat the 5 to the punch and enjoy a solo out wide with the 3 causing the 4 trouble on the run up. Form is closely tied with the black but given the make up, I'm all aboard the stripes.

2.42 Newcastle - 2pts win On Your Bike (T2)

Drops in grade here and that can really help this bitch who has been running consistently in the higher grade without getting her head in front. Is very competitive on times, not many of these look A4 graders so with a bit of luck - should clear T1 to the bend - will take pegging back once taking over down the back.

11.03 Belle Vue - 2pts win Somerset Belle (T3)

Strong running type will need the gaps was an A6 dog earlier in the summer and now working her way back into action with some good runs at this level. Times are aligned with these but with improvement expected for more runs and with a bit of luck, can pull away from these at the death.

11.34 Belle Vue - 2pts win Sirius Dog Star (T2)

Has comfortably the best recent time in this field and was unlucky on its drop down to A4 company last time out, suffering from crowding at the second bend but with better luck today will take a lot of beating.
