StevieDay1983 Posted September 13, 2019 Author Share Posted September 13, 2019 Real Betis vs Getafe The La Liga action throws up a tasty fixture judging by the ELO ratings this week where we could find some decent value in the game between Real Betis and Getafe that is scheduled to be played at 8pm on Sunday evening at the Benito Villamarin in Seville. Neither side has enjoyed the best of starts to their league season but the home side come into this game with more reason to be cheerful than their opponents. Real Betis experienced a summer of huge change with a lot of big name departures and arrivals in Rubi's team. The likes of Pau Lopez, Junior Firpo, and Giovani Lo Celso left the club in big money moves. That allowed for the likes of Borja Iglesias, Juanmi, and Nabil Fekir to come in. Back-to-back defeats to begin the season wasn't the best start for Los Verdiblancos but one of those losses was away to Barcelona and the 2-1 win at home to Leganes before the international break suggested they will be a side that will pick up points against the lower placed sides at home... like in this game. Getafe are one of those sides that could be involved in a relegation scrap if they're not careful this season. Jose Bordalas worked a miracle last season to see his side finish 5th in the league but this season hasn't started well at all. A narrow loss away to Atletico Madrid on the opening weekend was anticipated but the two 1-1 home draws against Athletic Bilbao and Alaves were matches they'd have hoped to pick up 3 points in. The upcoming schedule of Europa League matches this season also adds an extra element of pressure on the squad. It's understandable to see why the bookies are pricing a home win out like they are. Real Betis haven't shown a huge amount of play to be positive about this season but the ratings don't lie. Getafe almost certainly won't recreate their achievements last season and they'd be foolish to sacrifice the Europa League for domestic focus. I think Real Betis could be worth backing here because I think they'll be difficult to beat at home and something just isn't quite clicking for the visitors yet. Eibar lost 2:1 the first game as they missed a lot of chances vs Mallorca, drew 0:0 vs Osasuna and the team almost managed to take a point from last season’s best home side - Atletico Madrid scoring twice in a thrilling 3:2 game. Meanwhile, Espanyol are yet to score a goal in La Liga this season losing twice at home 0:2 vs Sevilla/0:3 vs Granada in last game and drawing 0:0 away vs Alaves. Espanyol have a hard time replacing Borja Inglesias’s 17 goals from last season (35% of all their La Liga goals) as their second most prolific scorer last season scored just 4 goals. Eibar have won 5 out of 10 games vs Espanyol in La Liga and 3 out of 5 at home, including the most recent 3:0 win at the start of 2019. Eibar’s coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has won 10 out of 18 games vs Espanyol and 6 out of 9 at home. Espanyol is actually Mendilibar’s favorite team to play against as he has the most wins in his managerial career exactly against the Catalan team.
