StevieDay1983
The Belgian First Division A continues on its rollercoaster ride this week. Four games in and no team has a 100% record. Club Brugge lead the way but only on goal difference ahead of Mechelen. Anderlecht are toiling at the bottom end of the table. It's making it tough to call the shots in this league but it also means there's a fair bit of value flying around. Check out the odds and ratings then let us know your bets for this week. StevieDay1983
Royal Excel Mouscron vs Eupen It seems like the Belgian First Division A has been going for an age now. It's week 5 and things are slowly starting to settle. My pick for the preview this weekend is the match between Royal Excel Mouscron and Eupen in a 7pm BST kick-off this Sunday from the Stade Le Cannonier. These two sides have had contrasting starts to the season but who will come out on top here? Royal Excel Mouscron could not have wanted a much better start this season. After finishing 10th last season the desire for Bernd Storck's team was to improve on that. It's exactly what they have done so far with 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss from their 4 league games so far. It has left Les Hurlus just 3 points off the pace of league leaders Club Brugge and a win here would give them one of their best ever starts to a top flight season in Belgian football. Eupen have endured a tougher start to their campaign. Benat San Jose has been charged with improving on the club's 12th place finish last season but it's not exactly gone to plan so far. The Pandas have failed to notch up a single win in the league to date with 2 draws and 2 defeats from their 4 league matches so far. The 6-1 humbling away to Gent a worrying sign of their fortune on their travels. This is one of those games where I have to back a solid home win. Royal Excel Mouscron have started this season brightly. The 0-0 draw with Anderlecht and 2-1 win against Gent at home have shown they are a very effective side on their own patch. It's a complete opposite to Eupen who look like they might struggle this year. I can see a 2-3 goal win for the home side here.
