The new La Liga season doesn't start until next weekend but I thought I'd chuck the odds up to give us some time to digest the value flying around. Take a look at the prices being displayed and let us know what predictions you have for these first round matches. :ok

Great to see Real Mallorca back , had a number of good seasons in the Primera, before getting relegated 2012/13 season, they even qualified for the champions league proper. Successive promotions see them here from Division 3.The odds have slightly drifted on Mallorca , as the money goes on Eibar who are now an established la liga side since their promotion a number of years back.

Not sure where the bets place to post is, but managed to snag some 4/5 about Atletico w/o big 2. Been cut not but I think it's probably still a great bet at 4/6.  Simeone has never finished outside the top 3 in his full seasons ion charge, he finished 5th the year he took over in decemeber.  Sale of Griezmann obviously makes them slightly weaker but they seem to have signed well in Felix.

The champions begin their La Liga campaign in Bilbao without Lionel Messi, and so it could be another low-scoring contest between these two teams

Ernesto Valverde's men earned their eighth league title in 11 seasons back in May and they are favourites once more, having strengthened over the summer with the arrivals of Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong.

Athletic have made no real signings during the transfer window, limited as they are by their Basque-only policy, but they ended last season strongly and will hope to be pushing for European football once more this term.

Only four sides scored fewer goals than Gaizka Garitano's men last season, although only five teams conceded fewer goals than them.

The Basque's matches averaged 2.26 goals with only four clubs averaging fewer, while both matches against Barca saw under 2.5 goals.

As well, nine of Barca's away games last season saw less than three goals scored, with the Catalans often grinding out results in difficult circumstances. The lack of Messi also the Catalans will be without their main creative force and goal threat.

Each of the last four meetings between these two sides have seen under 2.5 goals and a repeat looks appealing.

Valencia vs Real Sociedad

Ah, La Liga, it's good to be back you sexy little so-and-so. We start our previews for this season with Valencia playing at home to Real Sociedad in a 6pm BST kick-off this Saturday evening at the Mestalla. The home side will be looking to build on their 4th placed finish last season where as the visiting side will be looking to break into those European spots this season.

Valencia have been busy during the summer with the signings of big names such as Eliaquim Mangala from Manchester City, Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo, Denis Cheryshev from Villarreal, and Jasper Cillessen from Barcelona. The only noteworthy departure was Simone Zaza to Torino so Marcelino has shaped his side up well for the coming season. If Barcelona and Real Madrid are vulnerable this season then could it be their year?

Real Sociedad missed out on the Europa League by just 3 points last season. Imanol Alguacil will be wanting to continue last season's end of campaign form where his side won 3 of their last 4 matches. The additions of Portu from Girona, Alexander Isak from Borussia Dortmund, Modibo Sagnan from Lens, and Alex Remiro from Athletic Bilbao have boosted the strength of the squad. It just depends how the club copes with the departure of winger Juanmi.

The visitors come to the Mestalla with an encouraging record having won 5 of their last 8 trips here. However, the majority of those results came when Valencia were undergoing some troubling times. Marcelino's men only suffered defeat twice at home last season so things have improved recently. I am backing Valencia to start their campaign with a win and if they begin the season well who knows where it will end up?

for me zidane is bad manager and bad tactician and it's going to be only matter of time before he is gone. it's been troubling season for real madrid mainly because they haven't convinced anyone. i think backing celta vigo to score once or twice seem a good shot at profit
