StevieDay1983
Royal Excel Mouscron vs Anderlecht The opening weekend of the Belgian First Division A saw a big shock with Anderlecht failing to win so like a shark sniffing out blood I'm going to turn my attention on Vincent Kompany's men for this week's round of matches. It's Royal Excel Mouscron versus Anderlecht in a 5pm BST kick-off this Sunday afternoon at the Stade Le Canonnier in Mouscron. Royal Excel Mouscron have built their pre-season around a solid back-line. Head coach Bernd Storck was the man that masterminded Hungary's qualification for the 2016 European Championship and he also spent time as assistant manager at Borussia Dortmund. Three clean sheets in their last four matches including shutting out Saint-Truidense in their opening game with a 1-0 win shows they're going to be a tough side to break down. Their mid-table finish last season saw them into the European play-offs but they ended the season with nothing. Anderlecht are undergoing understandable changes with Kompany being recruited to lead the side as player/ manager. The opening day 2-1 loss to KV Oostende was a disappointing but teething issues are to be expected. The club failed to qualify for European competition last season in a devastating blow. Kompany has done his best to bring in some fresh faces but it could be too much too soon. The latest rumour circulating is that the club could be set to sign striker Kemar Roofe from Leeds for £7 million. Right now, Anderlecht are not a side you should have any confidence in backing. It's a huge transitional period and they're coming up against an organised Royal Excel Mouscron side. I think Anderlecht could struggle to break the hosts down and I certainly think the home team are worth backing to take something from this game. The value is too good to ignore.
