StevieDay1983
Feronikeli vs TNS The first preview for this round of Champions League matches is between Kosovo side Feronikeli and Welsh Premier League champions TNS in a 7:45pm kick-off at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina tonight. The Welsh side will feel they let a huge opportunity slip when they conceded two goals in the last two minutes in the 2-2 draw from the first leg. Can they put that disappointment behind them? Feronikeli were looking down and out in the first leg at Park Hall in Oswestry. Goals from Greg Draper Aeron Edwards had given TNS a solid 2-0 lead heading into the 89th minute. However, a goal by Mevlan Zeka and a penalty from Astrit Fazliu in the dying minutes turned the tie on its head. Zekirija Ramadani's men now have two key away goals and take a draw into their home leg. TNS will be ruing the two late goals but they will still feel optimistic that they can pull this tie back from the brink. Scott Ruscoe will look at how his team led 2-0 but they need to go to a ground where their opponents have won twice already in this competition during the preliminary phase. The winners of this game will face Danish side FC Kobenhavn so there's a big pay day for the winners of this tie. It cannot be under-estimated how much those two late goals will have punched the wind out of TNS. It might have been a different matter away from home but the double whammy of surrendering the two goal lead and giving up those two away goals mean that they either need to win this second leg or draw by a 2-2 score-line or higher. I'm not sure I can see them doing either. Those two minutes of lapsed concentration will be crucial and I think Feronikeli will win this match to confirm their place in the 2nd Qualifying Round. StevieDay1983
Riga FC vs Dundalk The second preview in this week's Champions League matches comes from the Riga FC versus Dundalk match that is set to kick-off at 5:30pm from the Skonto Stadium in Riga. The first leg ended in a 0-0 tie with both sides cancelling each other out. Will the same happen here with extra-time or even penalties required? Or will see a winner over 90 minutes? Riga FC will be pleased to have held Dundalk to a draw at their place but the lack of away goals is a concern. It means the tie is finely balanced and Riga FC will have to win this game on the night if they want to get the job done over normal time. Mihails Konevs will feel his side still have the advantage on home turf and they can rely on their solid defence that has conceded just 12 goals in 19 league games so far this season. Dundalk are up against it. Yes, they can turn the tie on its head with an away goal but they really will have wanted to come into this game with an aggregate lead. Vinny Perth will be hoping his defence that has only conceded 13 goals in 24 league games can do the business again. If they concede then it's hard to imagine them scoring two or more past this resolute Riga side. The first leg rightly showed why these two defences have been on top form this season. Not a lot will separate these sides in this game and even though I wouldn't be surprised to see another low-scoring draw I think the odd goal will decide it. Riga FC offer the better value as the home side so I'm going to have to back the Latvian side for this one.
