Senegal ?? Vs Benin ??

Total goals over 1.5 with 1XBET @ 1.52

Senegal will take on Benin in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. This is after Sadio Mane scored the lone goal in Lions of Teranga's 1-0 victory over Uganda in the round of 16. The Senegalese have so far won three of four played matches. This is after the team emerged second in Group C of the preliminaries, where they were placed ahead of Kenya and Tanzania but behind Algeria. Senegal beat Kenya and Tanzania but fell to Algeria. Next opponents Benin beat Morocco 4-1 (penalties) in the round of 16 after emerging third in Group F. The Benini drew thrice in their group encounters against Ghana, Guinea Bissau and Cameroon. Micakel Pote scored both goals in Benin's 2-2 draw against Ghana, after which they settled for barren draws against Cameroon and Guinea Bissau. In the round of 16, Moise Adilehou scored Benin's goal against Morocco, for a 1-1 draw that was ruled by a round of penalties. From their last three head to head matches against Benin, Senegal have won twice and once settled for a draw.  Senegal have played a great game so far and are likely to continue their impressive display against Benin. Don’t be surprise,  expect an interesting game with goals not less than 2. Good luck ?

Senegal vs Benin

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Quarter-Finals start at 5pm BST today with Senegal playing Benin in a game at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo where we could potentially see a massive upset. These two sides had polarised expectations before this tournament started but they're both in the last 8 and just two matches away from a Final appearance.

Senegal will be relieved that they came through the tough test against tournament surprise package Uganda in the last 16 with a 1-0 win. Sadio Mane's 15th minute goal proved enough and I think a similar tough affair could be in store in this game. The Lions of Teranga have won 9 of their last 10 matches. It's also 4 clean sheets in the last 5 matches for Aliou Cisse's men. They'll need another strong defensive display here to progress past a tricky Benin side.

Benin are continuing to exceed expectations. Michel Dussuyer's side sneaked into the knockout rounds as a best positioned third placed team on goal difference. The 1-1 draw with Morocco in the last 16 was a huge shock. Moise Adilehou's opener on 53 minutes appeared to be nullified by Youssef En-Nesyri's equaliser on 76 minutes. However, it was the underdogs that sealed a 4-1 win on penalties to qualify for the last 8.

I'm beginning to wonder how much more luck Benin can live off. The Squirrels have done very well to reach this stage and knocking out Herve Renard's men in the previous round was epic. Senegal appear to be a team that have shown they can deal with the favourites tag and I think it'll be Cisse's men that progress with a narrow win. I wouldn't be surprised if it was with a clean sheet either.

Nigeria vs South Africa

In the second 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Quarter-Final being played today we have another clash between two sides with differing pre-tournament expectations when Nigeria face South Africa in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo.

Nigeria remain on a path of meeting expectations. Gernot Rohr's men fell short in their group after they were pipped to top spot by surprise performers Madagascar. It led to a tough last 16 tie with Cameroon but the Super Eagles prevailed victorious with a 3-2 win. Odion Ighalo gave his side an early lead before the Indomitable Lions turned it around to take a 2-1 lead into half-time with goals from Stephane Bahoken and Clinton N'Jie. However, a second goal from Ighalo and a winner from Alex Iwobi sealed the win.

South Africa are probably just as stunned to be in the last 8 as the rest of us are to see them here. Stuart Baxter's team qualified for the last 16 by the skin of their teeth. Bafana Bafana were the 6th ranked third placed finishers who progressed at the expense of Kenya on goal difference. To their credit, they have seized the opportunity after beating host nation Egypt 1-0 in the last round in what was undoubtedly the biggest upset in the tournament so far. A single goal from Thembinkosi Lorch in the 85th minute was enough to create history.

My concern heading into this game is that the last 16 clash with Egypt emotionally drained South Africa. It was such an amazing effort to pull off such a result but at what cost? Nigeria had to sacrifice a lot to get past Cameroon but I think they'll have enough to grind out the win here.

Ivory Coast vs Algeria

One of the most enticing games of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations is coming up at 5pm BST is between two of the pre-tournament favourites at Suez Stadium in Suez where Ivory Coast will play Algeria. Sadly, one of these two fantastic sides will exit the competition earlier than expected but we're in for a potentially riveting clash.

Ivory Coast had a close call in their last 16 match with Mali. Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha scored the decisive goal in the 76th minute to give the Elephants a 1-0 win. Ibrahim Kamara will be delighted that after all the attention was on his side's attacking prowess that it was his team's defensive display that won the plaudits. It was just a second clean sheet in 6 matches and that will give them confidence going into this game.

Algeria continue to impress in this tournament. The Greens breezed past Guinea in the last 16 with a 3-0 victory. Goals from Mohamed Belaili, Riyad Mahrez, and Adam Ounas sealed the win. It's now 12 goals scored in their last 5 games for Djamel Belmadi's men.

Both of these teams have had tough tests during this tournament. Ivory Coast failed in their previous encounter with one of the tournament big guns when they lost to Morocco in the group stage. Algeria have won every game so far including defeating Senegal. I think Algeria could take the victory here but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go all the way to penalties.

Madagascar vs Tunisia

The last Quarter-Final for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations is between surprise package Madagascar and one of the highest FIFA ranked sides in the tournament Tunisia in an 8pm BST game at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo. Is this where the dream of the Barea comes to an end or will there be one more chapter to tell yet?

Madagascar have been a breath of fresh air in this tournament. It seemed that Nicolas Dupuis had led his men to an iconic moment in this competition when they beat Nigeria 2-0 in their final group game to secure top spot. Nobody could see their 4-2 win on penalties after a 2-2 draw with DR Congo. This is a side that continues to shock.

Tunisia will be hoping to avoid being the latest victims of the giant-killers. Alain Giresse's team might have been one of the fancied sides coming into this tournament but they've remained below the radar so far. The Eagles of Carthage did just enough to progress as runners up from their group with three draws before beating Ghana 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

There is almost nothing separating these two sides on paper in this tournament so far. Tunisia are yet to taste victory over 90 minutes but they've done enough to get this far. Madagascar are a very tough side to break down and they'll pose a threat for any team. This has a stalemate written all over it. 0-0 or 1-1 appears to hold the best value.
