Bamford 31 Posted 4 June 2019 11:12am A new course after years at Glen Abbey for Canada's national Open. We see a return to Hamilton G&CC a course which was used in recent times in 2006 and 2012. An old design from Harry Colt - famous for Open Championship venues on these shores - the course is a sub 7,000 yard par 70. With little wind forecast across Thursday and Friday I expect birdies and plenty of them. Thousands of trees have been cleared since 2012, but the course relatively thin fairways, thick rough and some pretty sever Bentgrass Poa Annua green complexes. Naturally this is also the week before the U.S. Open, so it's always fascinating to see of the elite players who challenges. I have gone for Dustin Johnson win-only at 6/1 backed-up with Shane Lowry at 40s, Jason Dufner at 50s and Jonas Blixt at 100/1.
Fader 573 Posted 4 June 2019 2:55pm Quite a difficult one to call this week. It will be good to see Kopeka pre major again. I'm going to swerve all the big names here this week. I'll go with Piercy who is actually in some good form and was the last guy to win this event before the course switch. Next up I'll take Bubba Watson who likes these kind of setups and his length will help cause problems. I'll also go with some guys who looked in good form over the weekend. Dufner, whenever he putts well is a danger and finished strong at the weekend. He actually stole a T8 spot from my 80/1 Grillo pick so he owes me. I'll take him and Cauley who should have been T5 if it wasn't for a big double bogey and bogey in the latter stages of his round. Finishing off Snedeker, who gets one final chance from me.1pt E/W B.Watson 30/1 boylesports (paying 8 places)1pt E/W S.Piercy 33/1 betfair (paying 8 places) 1pt E/W B.Snedeker 35/1 paddypower (paying 8 places)0.5pts E/W J.Dufner 50/1 betfair (paying 8 places) 0.5pts E/W B.Cauley 50/1 paddypower (paying 8 places)
Fader 573 Posted 9 June 2019 9:56pm Well, nobody is going to do anything about that from Mcilroy. Both Snedeker and Lowry was up there and stalking but Rory gets a -9 on the 1st 14 and -22 to win. Good placings for Snedeker(35s) T4 & Lowry(40s) T2 (tipped up by Bamford) on to the big one, next week.
