England sealed a second successive win over the weekend but it was another tight affair. A victory here for the host nation would put them in the driving seat for a series win but it's been far from straightforward so far. StevieDay1983 Posted May 14, 2019 Author Share Posted May 14, 2019 England vs Pakistan The pressure is firmly on Pakistan for this 3rd ODI against England at the Bristol County Ground starting at 1pm today. The first ODI was rained off and the second game in the series saw the home side sneak a win. It wasn't all bad news for the tourists who gave it a good go but defeat here would make it impossible for Sarfraz Ahmed and his team to win the series. In the most recent encounter between these two sides, both of the teams managed to score more than 360 runs. It was an impressive batting display from England and Pakistan but it was the English attack led by Jos Buttler that just had the slight edge in that department. A 115-run batting partnership from England's opening pair Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow was always going to set the home side up well and they'll want a similar response today. Pakistan will need more from their bowlers if they are to challenge England here. Batsman Fakhar Zaman hit 138 but the tourists will be on a hiding to nothing if they rely on his scoring again. I really can't see Pakistan repeating that batting display. Their bowlers need to start stepping up because they were bang average in the last game. England have half a dozen players you feel can hit the 100 mark but Pakistan lack such quality with the bat in such numbers. If England put Pakistan in first then it could be a tough day for the tourists. Pakistan need to win the toss and need to put England in first if they're to stand any chance of a win. Even then it'll be a tall order.
