Juventus are champions, Napoli have qualified for the Champions League, and we've already seen Chievo and Frosinone have their relegation spots confirmed. Everything else is wide open. StevieDay1983 Posted May 10, 2019 Author Share Posted May 10, 2019 Inter Milan vs Chievo The race for the Champions League qualification spots heats up in Serie A this weekend as the league enters its last three matches of the season. Inter Milan host already-relegated Chievo in this 8pm kick-off on Monday with a place in next season's elite club competition up for grabs for the home team. Inter Milan are currently sat in 3rd place in the league. Luciano Spalletti's men are only 4 points ahead of 5th placed local rivals AC Milan. A win here would be a huge step closer to qualifying for the Champions League and could even secure that qualification. Chievo were dead and buried ages ago. Domenico Di Carlo was the third manager appointed by Club President Luca Campedelli back in November. He's held onto the role but hasn't managed to turn around the fortunes of the bottom-placed club. Just 2 league wins during his reign has left the team wanting in the points department but he has managed to transform them into a side hard to beat. Unfortunately, they have lost 4 of their last 6 league games on the road. I'm not sure I can see past a business-like win for the home team here. Inter have only lost 3 of their 17 home games this season. Chievo have only picked up 1 win on the road all season. That was a 2-1 win away to Lazio on 20th April but I'm not convinced they can replicate that. I think Inter will want to get the job done and make Champions League football in 2019/20 a reality. vicsuna Posted May 11, 2019 Share Posted May 11, 2019 Cagliari vs Lazio: Draw Lazio's defeat vs Atalanta last week has left them without a realistic chance for Champions League spot and the team's focus is now on the Coppa Italia Final on 15 May. Lazio will be without their star man in midfield - Milinković-Savić and I reckon they will have a hard time controlling the tempo of the game vs Cagliari. Cagliari lost in injury time vs Napoli after a controversial VAR handball penalty and the president of the team was very disappointed stressing that Cagliari fights for every point. The team needs one point to confirm their Serie A spot mathematically. Cagliari has drawn all of their home games vs teams outside of top 4 till 10th.
