Davidovich Fokina to beat Mahut at 2.75 with Unibet

Fokina won the 2017 Wimbledon boys singles title without dropping a set, so he can be a dangerous player on this surface. He has improved his game a lot in recent months and i think that he has a good chance of winning here. Mahut has not performed very well in the past 2 years on grass, although with his service he should feel comfortable on the green surface. I expect to be little tired after RG and i think that the Spaniard will win here.

Vondrousova to beat Barty - 2.52 with Betfair

Barty had some nervous moments in the last match, leading 5-0 and losing the first set and although she's a good fighter, she will no doubt have some more worries in the final.

Vondrousova has had less wobbles, hasn't dropped a set against tough players and I think she should be shorter than 2.52.

I'm on.

Cheers, was just about to do that myself! :ok

On another note, if the tennis association is fair, they should default Djokovic for all his antics today. So pathetic - and he's supposed to be the number one. Leaving the court without an official umpire call is one thing, leaving the stadium is something else entirely.

Edit: Apparently I'm not alone thinking this, most of the commentators I've heard think that it was ridiculous to suspend the play for the day so early. Really hoping Thiem copes with the situations and wins for fairness sake.

Apparently you're wrong just like most of the commentators.

Yen-Hsun Lu, Yuichi Sugita and Dudi Sela are notorious grasscourt specialists and losing to them is no shame for Marius Copil so he's done quite well on the grasscourts over the years the romanian.

As I write, it's 5-5 in the match between Dan Evans and Marius Copil and one break each. A tie-break is probably looming and now comes the rain so match suspended for awhile. Likely until tonight because it's supposed to rain until 6 o'clock pm today so I'm surprised they got any matches going.

Novak Djokovic/Dominic Thiem over 4.5 set at 3.30 with betsson

I fully belive this bet is going to come in after seeing both playing their best superb tennis today. There just was no stopping either of them from winning in straight sets and there should be nothing stopping them from going the distance tomorrow.

Rain also in Paris but I don't care since I've already got paid for this bet :cow

So what happened? The only new info that I've found is that Thiem might've agreed during the suspension. That would take some blame off Djokovic, but I would still have harsh words for him leaving the court without an official call during the third set and for the organizers to suspend the play for the day.

From BBC: Djokovic and Thiem left the court at about 16:45 BST, with the decision to cancel play for the day taken about 40 minutes later. At that stage there was bright sunshine and clear sky over Roland Garros, which lasted for about another 50 minutes before dark clouds returned. However, the expected rain did not reappear until around 18:40 BST.

Talked to French Open tournament director Guy Forget, who confirmed play was called because of rain and high-wind forecast. Said Djokovic & Thiem informed together of decision by referee. "People thought Novak left, and that is why we canceled the matches, which is nonsense"

Courier on Djokovic: "There is no way he would disrespect the tournament and leave before he knew, he probably just knew before we did."

Barbara Schett:Unfortunately a wrong information was passed on to me during the show. Novak and Dominic left the courts after the referee told them play was postponed. I truly apologize for that and i will officially correct it tomorrow!

Marketa Vondrousova to beat (-1,5 Sets) Ashleigh Barty at 4.20 with 888

Well, finally i decided to risk and try to find some big odds for this one so 2-0 for the non favorite player. The reasons are already explained in previous pages. Vondrousova feels more comfortable on clay than Barty, she has played tougher opponents, better W/L record on this surface, she has not dropped any set yet.. Lets see.

Don't get me wrong - Thiem was a better player and fully deserved to win. Kudos to that! :ok

I'm just amazed at how Djokovic always has to land the villian part with some.

So you don't think that his antics were at least a bit hilarious yesterday?

I wouldn't call them hilarious. He was more nervous because of the ugly conditions i would say.

Fair enough. Federer and Nadal had a lot of wind as well though and no complaints, that's what made Djokovic stand out I guess, especially since Thiem didn't seem to care.

I'm sure we can all agree his attitude was poor at the very least. He didn't like the conditions yesterday - fair enough - but I doubt Thiem liked them all that much either but he just got on with it. I don't understand why Djokovic didn't have the same attitude because if he had done he might have won the first set. As it was he had no chance - mentally he wasn't in the right place and if he had been then I don't think he drops the first set 6-2 and that first set potentially made all the difference in the match.

There was a definite air of entitlement from Djokovic for me about the wind and the rain. His body language gave off the impression that he didn't want to play and that if he didn't want to play then play should stop. That's my take from what I saw and from what I saw it's not hard to see why people don't warm to him in the way he would like.

His attitude towards the Umpire wasn't great either. Not exactly a shining example. Then there was his dash off the court almost the second it started to rain today before play had even been called. Granted it was always going to get called but players usually wait for the call. Djokovic had his bags packed and was making his way off the court almost before the announcement was made. Those are the little things that don't do anything to endear him to the fans.

But Djokovic did leave the court - both yesterday and today - without seemingly consulting the umpire. I mean yesterday Thiem was still on the court when Djokovic had left. Obviously this is slightly separate from calling off the match yesterday, but it's still shocking sportmanship. He did again today at 40-40 on his serve today.

He never liked to play in those kind of conditions. At this moment, i can remember at least two such matches.
Both from US Open. One was against David Ferrer when he was two sets down, and the otherone was against Murray in the final (it could be that it was not in the same year). He lost that final btw. And i don't remember he was showing some shocking sportmanship then..

I fully understand why people don't like his attitude i i'm fine with that. Really,i am.
But one thing is not to like him or his behaviour and completely other is showing some kind of disrespect by placing, let's say, some kind of "fake news informations" like we had yesterday.

Roland Garros final.  Nadal to beat Thiem 3-0 correct score @2.10 offered by bet 365.

My idea is that Thiem looks vulnerable. In my eyes he continues to carry mental holes in crucial moments. He is weak. His game is very impressive against top players, but the mental holes are visible to everybody.

In addition he is under fatigue because of long match within raining stops. He is forced to play the final in less than 24 hours after the 5 setter against Djokovic. Not fair, sure. But we are not here to judge what is fair and what is not fair.

Nadal is in top form as always in Roland Garros. He was really huge against Federer. He had enough time to prepare himself mentally and physically.

Nadal will win 100% in my kind opinion. Here I go deeper and I risk the 3-0 correct score. Nadal always kills from the very first moment players with mental holes.

My confidence is high sky.

Good night friends

This late drift on Vondrousova made me think before the match. That performance by Marketa is a big, big joke, she looks totally unmotivated, without any will and chance.

NO MORE WTA on my value radar

Leaving my bet on Nadal as it is, no need to add anything more imo. Since the match is very likely to both start and finish today, Nadal should be able to get the job done with Thiem having little rest and presumably needing some. Thiem has enough weapons to fight with Nadal on almost equal terms, but I don't see him holding it all together for enough sets, especially after that mini-choke he threw in against Djokovic in the decider. 3-0 or 3-1 for Nadal look like the most likely results, slightly preferring 3-0.
