StevieDay1983
The 1st One-Day International (and the only one!) between Ireland and England takes place this Friday at 11am. It's a test for an England side that enter their first challenge of the summer against Pakistan that starts next week. England may well be overwhelming favourites to win the game but the value will be in the more intricate betting. I'll look to get a preview up tomorrow but feel free to share your tips before then. @Fader, @neilovan, @Ocerradus, @aussietennisexpert, @NoFear, @Absurdity1007, @owenclass, @pmwelec, and @KillerKat, what do you all think of this betting? StevieDay1983
Ireland vs England The international summer cricket schedule starts on Friday morning at 11am when England warm up for their series against Pakistan with an away ODI match against Ireland at Malahide in Dublin. The odds tell one story but a history of the Irish upsetting them against the English tells another. Ireland come into this match as the clear underdogs. Captain William Porterfield has even admitted that England have "raised the bar" when it comes to ODI cricket. It's no wonder the World Cup hosts are listed as the pre-tournament favourites just a month before the competition begins. This is an experienced Ireland squad still packed with many of the heroes from the 2007 and 2011 World Cup campaigns. 33-year old Gary Wilson will make his 100th appearance for Ireland. Sadly, he's one of many Irish players over 30 with little sign of a new generation of talent coming through. England will be looking to give a debut to the high profile Jofra Archer. His inclusion in the squad has been mired in controversy but there's no doubting his talents. The exclusion of Alex Hales for his extra-curricular activities has been an unwanted distraction for captain Eoin Morgan. This is an England side that is also without some big names such as Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Johnny Bairstow, and Moeen Ali. Are they vulnerable to a shock? Even though the Irish have been battered at Malahide in their past five first innings against the likes of New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, it just feels like everything is set up here for England to be caught short. The Irish lads will need no motivation and Kevin O'Brien is a spirit that England just can't exorcise. An Irish win is very unlikely still but at the odds offered it would be rude not to! Fader
Couldn't agree more, Stevie. No Bairstow, Buttler, Stokes or Ali. Also looks like no Jason Roy. England is no price at all and we all know the history and how they have struggled against this Ireland team. I'll be taking a small bet on Ireland to win and a couple of side bets to keep me interested during the match. O'Brien is a lovely price and I can't ignore that and I think Plunkett will be the man to step up and get abit of form back in his arm. 2pts Ireland to beat England 9/1 Blacktype 2pts Kevin O'Brien top Ireland batsman 11/2 bet365 2pts Plunkett top England bowler 4/1 bet365 StevieDay1983
StevieDay1983
A reduced overs match could work in favour of the Irish. Interested to see how this works out now.
Fader
A reduced overs match could work in favour of the Irish. Interested to see how this works out now. Brilliant wicket duties from Foakes to take out the Ireland danger man. Shame about O'Brien going early as around 50 would be top batsman here I would imagine StevieDay1983
StevieDay1983
Yeah, that was a big blow. Foakes could solve a huge problem for England if he builds on this performance. Let's see what he does with the bat.
Fader
Good to see Plunkett get 4 wickets. Guy is so underrated. StevieDay1983

Yeah, the second he's not delivering they drop him when others get a second, third, and fourth chance to get back into form.
