St Johnstone v Hibernian

I mentioned it before but I'll say it again, Hibs are a team to back at the moment, form and confidence has returned and I fancy us strongly to win this against a St Johnstone side who are sliding down the table. Nice price too.

Hibs @ 2.50.

Over 2.5 goals @ 2.10.

Florian Kamberi Anytime Scorer @ 3.00.

Luton vs Rochdale

League One delivers the first preview tip this week with league leaders Luton welcoming relegation battlers Rochdale to Kenilworth Road for this 3pm kick-off this Saturday. The outcome seems like a foregone conclusion but is a home win as expected as we think it should be?

When Nathan Jones left Luton for Stoke back in early January many people, including myself, felt that the wheels could well come off their promotion train. In fact, it's quite the opposite. The club appear to have gone up to another level. Interim manager Mick Harford has overseen the club move up to the summit of the table with 6 wins and 2 draws from his 8 league games in charge. They are now 1st in the division and 5 points clear of 2nd placed Barnsley.

Keith Hill continues to keep Rochdale just above where you might ordinarily expect them to be. The club is languishing in 22nd place in the table and 2 points off safety. Three consecutive league defeats has put the fans into panic mode. A trip to the team at the top of the table won't help ease those concerns.

Yes, I'm aware Luton dropped points against Coventry in their last league game but we've said on here that Coventry are a team with the capabilities of doing that. I'm not very convinced that Rochdale are. Therefore I'm not only backing a Luton win to bounce back to winning ways but I can see them winning by 2-3 goals at least. It won't produce a win like my Portsmouth vs Barnsley tip last week but it's worth a crack!

Grimsby vs Cambridge

League Two gets some much deserved tender loving care this weekend in this section as I preview the clash between mid-table Grimsby and relegation battlers Cambridge in this 3pm kick-off this Saturday from Blundell Park. Not exactly the glamour tie of the weekend but there's some value here.

Grimsby are in 11th place and with their place in League Two next season seemingly a formality the club can afford to look up and maintain faint ambitions of gate crashing the play-offs. Michael Jolley's side may be 7 points behind 7th placed Forest Green Rovers but they're undefeated in 5 league games including winning 4 of those matches and keeping 3 clean sheets.

Cambridge aren't having the best of seasons. Former manager Joe Dunne was sacked at the start of December with the club in serious trouble. Colin Calderwood had success with Northampton in English football before and he's steadied the ship at the U's. They are now in 19th place and 6 points clear of the relegation zone but haven't won in 3 league games.

The away form of the travelling side is a deep concern for Calderwood. Only bottom placed Notts County have a worse record. Cambridge have lost 12 of their 17 away matches this campaign and only managed 3 victories away from home all season. Even Calderwood hasn't been able to turn that form around.

I'm going to have to back Grimsby for the win here. They're in-form and compared to a lower-placed Cambridge side who are going through a sticky patch they seem cracking value at the odds provided. Cambridge haven't scored in three league games so I can see this being a low-scoring game as well.
