athletic bilbao have taken their chances at home this season. i this they are good there to win. eibar has been scoring goals lately and that may be a slight concern but they concede also but with home advantage they should win

barcelona are shuttering a bit, barely beat valladolid a week ago and couldn't score against lyon in midweek. this is a match sevilla could win but hard to tell if they will be in the mood to take them on. barcelona can also raise their games. i'm probably leaning more to skipping it.

atletico madrid and real madrid are going in my acca coupon

Girona vs Real Sociedad

La Liga throws up a fascinating match this weekend when relegation battlers Girona host European qualification chasing Real Sociedad in an 8pm kick-off this Monday at the Estadi Montilivi. There appears to be a bit of value to be had in this game judging by the odds on offer.

Girona are just about keeping their heads above water this season. Eusebio Sacristan's men are in 15th place and 4 points above the relegation zone. Their shock 2-1 win away to Real Madrid last weekend ended a run of four straight league defeats and 10 league games without a victory. Is that win the spark needed to help them move back up the table?

Real Sociedad are really knocking on the door of the Europa League places. Imanol Alguacil has turned the club's fortunes around since his appointment on Boxing Day. The club is undefeated in the league since he took charge and they are now positioned in 7th place and just 3 points off the Champions League qualification spots.

Not only are Girona facing an in-form Real Sociedad team here but they come up against a team that has the 4th best away record in La Liga. On top of that, Girona possess the second from worst home record in the division. It all seems to be geared up for an away win. I'm a big massive bottle job though so I'll back a draw no bet option instead because I'm not totally convinced the win will come... even though I think it's quite likely.

didn't girona beat real madrid last week. i am surprised you are backing real sociedad to win in away match where they struggled all season.

Well, my feeling is that Girona peaked last week. Their run before that win was awful. I have a feeling they might have used up so much to earn that win it'll leave them physically and emotionally drained for this one. You often find when lower teams pull off a shock they follow it up with a draw or loss. Real Sociedad have also been really impressive under their new head coach.

Alaves vs Celta Vigo=1(2.30) stake 6/10

Alaves position 6° points 36
Celta Vigo position 17° points 24

Preview:
Celta Vigo:
injured: Iago Aspas (striker 18/10);
suspended: Vazquez (defender 2/0), Boudebouz (midfielder 1/0).

Alaves has a home score of w6-d4-l1 goals scored 13 goals conceded 7 while Celta Vigo has a home score of w2-d2-l7 goals scored 17 goals conceded 25. The home team fights for a place in the Europa League. The visiting team is making a disappointing league, fighting to try to get away from the danger zone quickly. Alaves can also count on the favorable tradition in head-to-head with a home score of seven wins, three draws and three defeats. This match is dominated by the superiority of the home team.

Of the strongest couples of the day is undoubtedly that of Sevilla with Barcelona in "Sanchez Pithhouan". Ernesto Valverde's team is struggling to make a form lately and has the first reason for winning

I also believe Barcelona is worth backing vs Seville especially as the Andalusian team has terrible form lately: 1 win & 3 losses from last 5(16th worst form) and 2 wins & 4 losses in last 10(14th worst form). Seville has only lost 1 game at home this season vs 3 last year and I think it is time Seville lose at home again. Barca have not impressed lately but I reckon the players will step up their game vs one of the big teams.

Question for me is which team from Alaves and Getafe will take advantage from a potential Seville slip-up that opens the door for the 4th Champions League place? I reckon Getafe are more likely to win vs Rayo and go in fourth place.

Rayo Vallecano's form has turned bad again - losing last 3 La Liga games after they won 4 and drew once. Rayo has won once vs Alaves, drew twice vs Real Sociedad and lost all other 5 matches vs teams fighting for that last Champions league spot(Seville, Getafe, Alaves, Sociedad, Betis and Valencia - teams from 9th to 4th all within 5 points).

Meanwhile, Getafe won 5 out of 6 games vs bottom 3 last season. They have won only 3 and drew 4 times vs bottom 6 this year(more tight relegation battle that is why 6 teams), including an away 2:1 win vs Rayo. It is worth noting that only 2 of those games were at home for Getafe - a 3:1 win vs Celta and goalless draw vs Real Valladolid.

While I mostly agree with your analysis overall, one thing that does concern me that you haven't mentioned is that Real Sociedad is missing three key players from its squad:

  1. Willian Jose (top scorer) - suspended
  2. Theo Hernandez (left-back) - suspended
  3. Asier Illarramendi (defensive midfielder) - Injured

Yes, at the time of writing the team news wasn't readily available for me. I think I'll have to leave the previews for the European leagues until the team news is more widely available.

Girona – Real Sociedad

Betting suggestion: both teams to score @1,95 Bet365

Short preview: a match of two teams in opposite form lately. Girona started the season pretty well, but found themselves in a very bad run lately, 13 winless matches in a row, but who would guess that the negative run will finish on Santiago Bernabeu, where they won 1-2. Real Sociedad on the other side, is without defeat since 21st of December, and they started collecting points with a win on Santiago Bernabeu (6th of January) as well. Positive news for the coach of Girona is that he will have his offensive trio reunited once again and at home, after the huge victory in Madrid, they should get some more support from the home crowd and as well feel more confident and play a bit more relaxed.

Real Sociedad is not coming to defend, their goals are to finish on European spots and right now, they are only 5 points behind the Champions League places, so everything (especially Europa League) is still very possible. Of course, for something like that, they will have to get points on matches like this one will be, but I am sure that Eusebio and Girona have different plans. Both sides will play somehow in 433 formations, with at least 3 very offensive players in the lineup, so the “goal” from both sides is pretty much clear.
