The lightly raced ORCHARDSTOWN CROSS is interesting here following an excellent second in a competitive handicap at Warwick in December. Having his first start for the Jeremy Scott yard and not having seen a racecourse for 445 days,the seven year old was backed into favoritism and looked all set to deliver when a couple of lengths clear jumping the last.However lack of a recent race took it's toll on the run in as he was nabbed close home.Fitness wont be an issue this time...

Despite being a ten year old,this bay filly has few miles on the clock and the marked step up in trip brought about plenty of improvement when 2nd of 12 in a competitive handicap at Fontwell last time. Upped even further in trip today,she remains of interest in the hope that the extra yardage could eek out even further improvement.
