StevieDay1983
Sunderland vs Wycombe The first game up for the previews in this reduced schedule weekend is League One's 2nd placed team Sunderland playing mid-table side Wycombe in a 3pm kick-off this Saturday at the Stadium of Light. I'm picking this match because it's a classic case where the home side should seal a business-like win. Sunderland are experiencing somewhat of a return to stability under the stewardship of Jack Ross. The former St Mirren manager has overseen a huge number of changes at the club over the summer. 23 players departed the club and Ross essentially built the playing squad from scratch. It was a risk but it's paid off. The Black Cats are 2nd in the table with 35 points from 16 league games and just one defeat all season. Wycombe are not doing too badly so far. A number of pundits tipped them to struggle this season but Gareth Ainsworth, also known as "Wild Thing", continues to defy the odds at the club he's been with for six years now. The Chairboys are in 15th place with 21 points from 17 league games meaning they are 6 points clear of the relegation zone. This game sticks out for me for the simple reason that Sunderland are undefeated at home and Wycombe have really struggled on their travels with just one victory in their 8 away matches so far. I've no doubt that Ainsworth will have his players fighting until the end but the home team should have too much for the visitors. Wycombe have won 4 of their last 6 games and have only lost by more than 1 goal on the road once this season but I think this game will be a tough one for them. Johnmccain
Rochdale, Cambridge and Grimsby look appealing at the prices. Rochdale better at home but who knows how Shrewsbury will play - could go wither way. Cambridge turning a corner and beat Colchester midweek, so they have some fight. Grimsby the same beating MK Dons comfortably and should have too much for a poor Crawley side. Papa Lazarou and StevieDay1983 1

He’s on international duty with NI. he is their top scorer but his midfield and holding influence is considerable especially in home games. Burton still a handful but I expect a Coventry win and goals. thank you all for the posts Edited November 17, 2018 by Papa Lazarou Error Gidds and StevieDay1983

StevieDay1983
Dundee Utd vs Alloa Ah, I've waited for this moment for a long time. The opportunity to preview my adopted Scottish club. They travel to Dundee Utd this evening for this 7:45pm kick-off at Tannadice Park. Why are they my adopted Scottish club I hear you ask? They were the first team I properly managed on the old Championship Manager (now Football Manager) game. That's enough reason, right? Anyway, in terms of betting, they're very much against it here but we'll come back to them shortly. The hosts are sitting in a disappointing 3rd place and are 6 points off the pace of league leaders Ayr Utd. It's disappointing because a team as big as The Terrors really belongs in the Scottish Premier League. The good news for Dundee Utd fans is that former manager Czaba Laszlo's departure has triggered a rejuvenation in form with the club unbeaten since current gaffer Robbie Neilson came in. Four wins and a draw in his five games so far has been an encouraging start for Neilson who has also seen his side now keep three consecutive clean sheets. Alloa are not finding things quite so easy right now. The Wasps are currently lingering in 8th place just 1 point outside the relegation play-off position and 3 points off the foot of the table. Just 1 win in their last 4 league games has increased the pressure on player/ manager Jim Goodwin but that win did come in the most recent league game so maybe it's not quite time to start calling for the man's head yet. It could be argued he's got this team punching above their weight as it is. As much as it pains me to say, I can see Dundee Utd cruising to victory here. They are on a rampage under Neilson and if this can continue then they could prove formidable opposition for anyone with the target firmly a return to the top flight of Scottish football. I'm going to back a clean sheet win and for them to get that first goal early doors.
