It might not be as influential now but due to the form of both of these sides it is has become a key clash again. AC Milan entertain Juventus at the San Siro this Sunday in a 7:30pm kick-off and it's one of the toughest encounters of recent times to call between the two sides. AC Milan had an arduous start to the season with just 1 win in their first 5 league games. Gennaro Gattuso faced criticism for his conservative style of play but he's now witnessing his side fly up the table. His side have now lost just 1 of their last 10 league games in a run of results that has seen them rise to 4th in the Serie A table. Juventus are the runaway leaders in Serie A once more. Massimiliano Allegri's men are 6 points clear ahead of second placed Inter Milan. However, the midweek 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United in the Champions League was unexpected. Throw into this the fact that they also drew 1-1 at home to Genoa a couple of weeks back. Are cracks starting to show? This is a really hard match-up to call. AC Milan are a more organised side than they have been in a long while. Qualification for the Champions League is now firmly on the radar and results are on a positive. I'm not sure they can take all three points here but Juventus are vulnerable. If I was a fan of the Old Lady I wouldn't be totally confident my side could win this. This could be worth a double chance punt here at these odds. The fixture machine has not been kind to the Viola thus far with trips to Napoli, Sampdoria, Inter, Lazio and Torino. Naturally, Fiorentina have found it difficult to pickup results in these games and their ELO ratings have probably diminished as a result. Frosinone have picked up lately due to a change in formation. They are unbeaten in the last 3 league games and have scored 6 goals in that period. The problem for them here is that Fiorentina are clearly a level above what Frosinone have faced in those last 3 matches. Frosinone are particularly vulnerable when defending against opponents with skill, which Fiorentina have in abundance with Chiesa, Pjaca and Mirallas. Frosinone are also missing key forward Ciano for this game which is problematic for the home team as he is their main contributor for goals and assists. Full-back Molinaro is also absent and this will leave Frosinone more exposed on the flanks. To summarise, I think we should see past the recency bias in the market and back Fiorentina to get that first away win here.
