400 Redcar

Tabarrak 2/1 bet365 (9/4 available if your quick)

Tough day in my opinion with no real stand out bet at a price. I'm rowing in with Tabarrak who should be good enough to win the Listed event at Redcar. Rated 110 so has a few pounds in hand on his main rivals and loads in hand on some, he won last time out to show he's in form and looks to be a 7f specialist rather than a horse trying to find a trip - if you know what i mean.

3.15 Newmarket - Opinions?

Sorry to thee who fancy something else rather than Lauren’s and Wind Chimes.

I must admit I’ve watched all the replays on Lauren’s and can see it’s battling qualities, but I can see it had just beaten a lot if horses in its races just pulling out enough. I can’t confess to be an expert on Wind Chimes?

Any comments?

During the summer I was mainly looking at run of the mill handicaps on the flat but that's winding down now and the Jumps haven't really got going yet so I've been looking at two year old maiden and novice races to fill the gap

These tend to mainly be midweek with the Saturday cards full of conditions races and handicaps so there's not much on today

One horse that has caught my eye is ……….

Redcar 3.25 - Myrmidons at 16/1 (EW)

Typical northern maiden race with the market revolving around the raiders from down south but none of them look outstanding and the form of the horses that have run doesn't look great. I had a two year old the other day that was just pipped on the post by a Michael Dods newcomer and my selection is another one of his making a debut. Related to winners and seven furlongs looks like a good starting point as he should get further next year. But mainly it's just that newcomer of his pipping mine on the post a few days ago !

I've gone for Clemmie at 8/1 as my nap of the day

O'Brien horse disappointed a bit over the summer, had a break, came back and finished 2L 3rd to Laurens at Leopardstown. Fresh horse after the break, can see her reversing places with Laurens which should put her bang there.

Laurens also had a mid season break and has had 2 runs since ….. bit lucky to win at Leopardstown ? Uncontested lead and had the run of the race and of course Alpha Centauri was injured and retired after the race but still ran her to under a length. She has been running over 10/12 furlongs which suggests they're not sure about her best trip. At a mile she could be a bit of a suiting duck for anything with a turn of foot. On the plus side she is game and tough.

Wind Chimes has some decent form with two close up 2nds in group one races. Not sure that the Moulin was that great with Recoletas winning it but obviously it was against colts so that marks her up. Noted as finishing 'all out' last time which I consider a bad sign … having had a hard race and given all she's got. I read that as meaning there's not much improvement in her.

Veracious is interesting ….. lightly raced Cheveley Park filly from the Stoute yard. You just expect them to be good !

I see that Clemmie is being backed since I posted it about an hour ago … now down to 6/1.

I've rated this on computer ...

Wind chimes 313

Laurens     308

Billsdown brook    304

Thesex3 are clear of rest .....best value is billsdpwn brook ew....but close race between top 2 ...I'll be surprised if one of top 2 don't win

Thank you for all your comments, I will have a closer look at the 3.15.

In relation to the 4pm at Redcar I totally agree! Don’t fall over and bang your head Billy! I did even look at the weather forecast for Redcar as g/s would’ve changed my opinion!
