The FA Cup Semi-Finals mean it's a reduced fixture schedule in the Premier League this weekend. The bumper week of action we are enjoying coming up will sort those games out so check out the previous thread for that chat. For this weekend's matches, post your thoughts up in here! :ok

Hope you've recovered from the weekends events. Agent Murray did a great job of clearing one off the line for us in the last seconds. Beautiful.

The silence is deafening. Too soon, @Mindfulness, too soon! :lol How do you think you boys will do away to Watford? I actually fancy your chances of at least a draw this week. Think you'll do enough to stay up.

@Sir Puntalot TROLLING ALERT!!!!! It's not fair that there are people on here, who can't be bothered to post for ages, and then when their team actually wins a bloody game, they go all out to rub our bloody noses in it!

its just not fair I tell you! Maybe just ban him for a year or 2? :loon

And as for you @StevieDay1983, "silence is deafening" is it? I'll get SirP to stick you on the naughty boy list too if you are not careful. There won't be much silence when Cardiff blow it at the end of the season, I can tell you:loon

Hello @Mindfulness, (don't worry, I can take the stick, well done by the way)

It looked like a cracker of a game on Saturday. Some shocking defending from us, and an inability to covert several great chances gave you a deserved victory. Felt it was coming to be honest as we have gone off the boil & you are getting going at long last. That bloody Zaha bloke though, I hope he goes to a club with real top 6/European ambition (like Burnley) in the summer. He loves scoring against us doesn't he?

Looks like we will be pitting our wits against each other next season, which is great. I always felt there would be a couple of poor teams in the prem this season, but next season could be tougher with Wolves/Villa/Fulham coming up.

lets hope its Cardiff and MILWALL who come up, then there's a guaranteed 12 points already!.

By the way, how is your "Top 6" bet looking this season?:ok

Don't even joke! We all know it's coming! Nah, in all seriousness, it would be great to be back at the top table next season in blue! I still don't count our last Premier League campaign as a genuine one. It was farcical. I also didn't see any of it because my son was born so I couldn't afford it. I also didn't really make much effort to try and afford it either because of the re-brand. You must be delighted with you boys staying up. I suspected you might be OK this season but it's always a tall order for new teams. I am surprised that the bottom three are the bottom three. I thought Swansea, Huddersfield, and Crystal Palace would all struggle more. Glad to be proven wrong... except for the Jacks! :lol

Haha, that's a brilliant idea. Just think what a wonderful place it would be with just us 2 on here.!

Yes, I am delighted that we look like staying up this season. I always thought there would be 3 worse than us & so it proved. I think I predicted as much earlier in the season too. It's interesting to see that all 3 promoted teams stayed up & kept their managers too. Bournemouth were the only other team not to change theirs outside the top 7.

if you do come up, I can see Warnock going. He's not a Prem quality manager!

Good luck in the run in, at least your Cardiff tips have done well this season:ok

I thought the same about Warnock. He even said he wouldn't stay if we went up because he knows he can't manage in the Premier League. However, he's signed an extended contract and apparently he's keen to stay because his wife, who has been ill with cancer, said she loves it down here. I think there is the chance that he might move into a director of football role if we go up with someone else coming in. I'd love to see Bellamy take over. He's got a great reputation with our academy, he's a very grounded coach, and I think he's really matured in his later playing days and has taken that into his coaching. Not sure giving him the job going into the Premier League would be right but I'd certainly look to have him as an assistant manager to whoever comes in.

West Brom vs Liverpool

The FA Cup Semi-Finals mean we have a slightly reduced Premier League schedule this weekend but there are still some fascinating matches to take a look at. I'm starting with this vitally important game taking place at the Hawthorns in a 12:30pm kick-off tomorrow lunch-time when relegation battlers West Brom take on Champions League contenders Liverpool.

This weekend could potentially confirm West Brom's relegation from the Premier League if they lose to Liverpool and Swansea take something against Manchester City. Even a win could all but condemn them to the Championship. It certainly feels more a case of when not if the Baggies get relegated.

Darren Moore's side kept their slim chances of survival alive with a courageous win against Manchester United last weekend. It was their first league win since their 2-0 victory at home to Brighton back on 13th January. Will it be enough to give them the self-belief to win here. West Brom are unbeaten against Liverpool in their two meetings this season having drawn 0-0 in the league earlier this season and having beaten Liverpool in the FA Cup 4th Round back in January.

However, this is a Liverpool team that is in fine form. The Reds are unbeaten in their last four league games and have won 7 of their last 10 league games. Mohamed Salah has also sent a warning that he has his eye on the all-time Premier League record for the most league goals in a single season. The only question is how much will Jurgen Klopp commit to this game without being distracted by their upcoming Champions League Semi-Final encounter with Roma?

You cannot under-estimate the strength of a team's desperation when they are fighting for their league status. West Brom threw a curve ball with that win last weekend but how much did it take out of them? Usually after a win I'd be backing them against a Liverpool side that is renowned for stumbling against sides like West Brom but it seemed like an emotional performance last week where they gave everything they had. Did they give too much? Unfortunately, I think midweek was the peak of the Baggies fight. I am expecting Liverpool to win but it might not be easy.

Liverpool's main focus will be on their midweek 1st leg semi against Roma with the chance to reach the UEFA CL final for the first time in over 10 years.  Klopp's team selection reflects the importance of this match with a number of key starters being left on the bench, however importantly Salah is in the starting lineup.

The Hawthorne's have been a very unhappy hunting ground for a number of years for Liverpool with an inability to win consistently at this ground over the last 5 years.  No doubt they will be happy to see WBA relegated to the championship which seems very likely.  However Darren Moore has managed to achieve what seemed impossible which was another win this season and achieved that feat at Man Utd no less.  He is unbeaten in his 2 games in charge and based on this turn of form for the home team, their record against Liverpool and the away team's focus being on the crucial midweek game and not wanting to risk themselves too much I will be taking WBA +1.00 AH here @ odds of 2.00.  Also feel that WBA at 7's represents very attractive value for an unlikely double over 2 top 4 sides.

Note.. Moreno starts at LB so we'll probably see a few goals in this one.

Arsenal vs West Ham

Well, the big news was revealed this week that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would be leaving the club after 22 years at the helm. It's a stroke of genius from whoever decided to announce this because for the final month of the season the club will finally be fully united. I'm expecting to see a spirited Gunners side finish both their Premier League and Europa League campaigns strongly.

The 2-1 defeat to Newcastle last weekend was a typical Arsenal performance. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in a game they were expected to win. However, I fully expect Wenger to see his side bounce back at home. It's 13 wins, 2 draws, and just 2 defeats for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this season. The atmosphere should be superb (for an Arsenal game!) so I am anticipating a lively home team display.

West Ham are only on 35 points but that should be enough to see them stay up. One win and two draws from their last three league games has seen their form stabilise after three straight league defeats with 11 goals conceded in the three games prior. David Moyes saw his team hold Arsenal to a 0-0 draw earlier in the season but I'd be amazed if it was a similar score-line here.

Backing Arsenal to win in a classic vibrant attacking display seems to be the best option here. Some of the West Ham players won't admit it but might be in holiday mood now. Relegation looks very unlikely. Unless every Hammers player is on their game then this could be a tough game for the away side.

I agree with your thoughts on the announcement of Wenger’s final exit from the club, however that shouldn’t change the 1 focus that the club has had for some time now which is winning the Europa League and qualifying for the champions league.  For that reason I will wait to see if key players like Ozil and Ramsey start as Aresenal will need to be at their best to beat this -1 for me.

Further, the matchup between Wenger and Moyes has always been a tight one going back to Moyes years at Everton with Arsenal rarely beating -1 handicap and Moyes tactics.

Everton vs Newcastle

If there was one game this weekend in the Premier League that was never likely to be a thrilling encounter then it's the Monday Night Football game between Everton and Newcastle taking place at Goodison Park in an 8pm kick-off this evening. A clash of two progressive styles!

The Toffees are 9th in the table on 42 points from 34 games. The Toon Army are one place below them on 41 points from 33 matches but could leap frog their opponents with a win. It will be the 15th meeting between Sam Allardyce and Rafa Benitez. Benitez has won 7 of the previous 14 with Allardyce taking 4 victories.

Newcastle are in top form right now with 4 wins from their last 4 league games. It's been a mix of opponents as well so it's not been an easy set of games to win with their opponents including Arsenal, Leicester, Huddersfield, and Southampton. However, it should be noted that 3 of those wins came at home. Their last five away games have seen just one win. This is a Newcastle side full on confidence with 12 points from a possible 12 though in their last 4 winning league games. Can they make it five in a row tonight?

Everton are embroiled in even more negativity after a substandard season. A fan survey was sent out allowing the club's supporters to rate the work Allardyce and his team have done so far. Funnily enough, a large percentage of football fans embraced the idea but those working within the game criticised it. No surprise there! There is still a potential 8th placed finish up for grabs and given their awful start to the season under Ronald Koeman that would be considered a miracle by Allardyce.

The sticking point here is Newcastle's away form. Benitez has seen his side struggle on the road with just 4 wins from their 16 away games. It's by no means the worst in the division but it does not inspire hope of a victory here. Everton have been greatly improved at home under Allardyce with 9 wins from their 17 home matches this season. Only the top six teams have a better home record this season.

I'm dithering between a home win and draw. The odds aren't good enough to cover both bases so I might take a punt and back the home win given the odds and Everton's recent home form. Goodison Park is a tough place to visit once again. I just think there is so little separating these sides right now that home advantage might be the difference maker.

Everton vs Newcastle United
2018, April 23, 21:00 hrs (CET Time)
English Premier League

Intense game for this Monday, meeting of teams that are in the middle of the general table of the Premier League. Newcastle in its season of return to the Premier is close to ensure its permanence another season, while Everton is close to doing the same. The difference is that Everton has played a game more than Newcastle.

For this match Everton has considerable absences for not being available Mángala or Holgate, but wide enough and his squad allows him to send a team to the key candidate to make a good match, and his various forward options.

In the last five Everton games, the team has won victories against Brighton and Stoke City, while the Manchester City team teams were lost, but they did not tie things against one of the more fit teams that is Liverpool, although then draw a visit against the city of Swansea. Fortunately for the team fitted this game at home where he has had a good performance this season.

Newcastle meanwhile have a run of four consecutive victories, three of them at home, highlighting the one they won against Arsenal in the last game, the remaining three were against the less strong rivals.

This game I see evenly because both teams have given good results against the most difficult opponents, and have resulted in favorable results against less strong rivals. For what we consider the previous history between them, in which we find Everton has four of the last five games played at Goodison Park, so with the advantage that we go with the local with an average participation.

Everton -0.25 AH with 6 units @ 1.96 at Marathonbet
