Sir Puntalot
I've wanted to set this up for a while, as there's things you can easily miss about teams which affects your bets. Example recently would be the Rochdale pitch, which was absolutely awful and actually affected their own home stats. They had a new pitch put in before the FA Cup with Spurs and after watching them I thought they could be a team to follow, as it definitely seemed to help the way they played. I think also we should have info straight away in here when managers get sacked, so everyone is aware before putting bets on. So anything like that, let's get it in here. He's been replaced by Martin Allen who is there for his fifth stint. His record as their manager is generally really good too. Win ratios of 42.55%, 66.67%, 66.67%, and 42.22% over those previous four spells. Not bad considering Barnet are absolute garbage! No offence to fans of the Bees! StevieDay1983
West Brom manager Alan Pardew has left the club after just four months in charge. An awful appointment to start with. Damage has been done. Whoever they appoint now needs to have Championship experience. Personally, if I was the Baggies owner, I would look to get Mick McCarthy in seeing as he's leaving Ipswich at the end of this season. What odds him to be appointed on a permanent basis? He's only being offered at 11.00 with BetVictor. I think it's mainly because he's not fully interested in it yet. He's a quality coach and keen to stay in that field I think. Too clever to become a manager basically! The leading candidates right now are Mick McCarthy at 5.00, Dean Smith at 6.00, Patrick Kluivert at 7.00, and Derek McInnes at 13.00. If I had to take a punt I would say Smith or McInnes are decent shouts. My mate who is a Wolves fan said he can't imagine McCarthy would want to work there after the abuse he got from West Brom fans when he managed Wolves. Never say never in football though. StevieDay1983
Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace have been suspended pending a further investigation by Rangers. This was due to them apparently angrily confronting manager Graeme Murty after the 4-0 loss to Celtic on the weekend. Two other players also looked unhappy coming off as subs so all is not well at Ibrox right now. No idea why. I thought they had been looking decent under Murty. @allyhibs, can you share any knowledge on this? Is it wise to avoid Rangers in the betting for now? Apparently there was a fight in the dressing room after the defeat to Celtic but as always you don't know what to believe when it comes to Rangers and the media. Murty certainly started well but I think a lot of that was down to a decent transfer window in January, it doesn't look like it's lasted long and I certainly won't be backing Rangers anytime soon (not that I back them anyway, I always want them to lose). If they were playing anyone but Hearts this weekend I would be backing the away win. StevieDay1983 and Tiffy
StevieDay1983
In case any of you were living in a cave today, Arsene Wenger is set to depart Arsenal at the end of the season. Will this help Arsenal in their season run-in or will it hinder them? Personally, I think the players will give it one last push and I can see them doing well between now and the final games. #WengerIn
StevieDay1983
Chris Coleman has now left his position as Sunderland manager. I think that's a mistake by them. Personally, I have always doubted Coleman as a tactician and he thrives as a man manager with an effective support team. He had already got Kit Symons on board and there were rumours he was going to get Trollope and a few others from the Welsh set up involved. I think Sunderland need a man manager and motivator like him in place to heal the club and improve the squad. Mick McCarthy is now firm favourite to be his replacement but I'm not sure McCarthy is the right choice for League 1. It's a completely different beast to the Championship. I would have thought someone like Kenny Jackett who took on a similar club in a similar position in Wolves and did the business would have been a better choice. Other contenders are Chris Wilder, Michael Appleton, and Paul Cook. Wilder and Cook would also be excellent appointments.
Tiffy
Interesting on the Sunderland issue @StevieDay1983. I think Coleman would have got them straight back up, but he has fallen on his sword & done the honourable thing. i want to to have a bet on Silva to be the next Everton manager. I always thought it was a done deal once he left WATFORD. I can't find a market on BF or 365? Do you have any suggestions? StevieDay1983
Sad to see Chelsea showing a complete lack of respect to Antonio Conte. Not expecting anything less these days to be honest. Speculation alleging that Maurizio Sarri was a deal done in principle whilst Conte was still officially in charge was appalling. Anyway, it's been obvious for a while that Conte was looking on his way out and, as always, Roman Abramovich opts for the flavour of the month. How do you all think this will affect Chelsea this season? I'm actually sceptical about this appointment. Sarri has been a manager since 2005 but only achieved a win ratio above 60% twice having managed 8 clubs and has only lasted more than one season at two clubs. He really should have sealed the title with Napoli this season but bottled it. It was a quality Napoli side as well. I really don't understand how he's bagged the Chelsea job.
