StevieDay1983 Posted March 9, 2018 Author Share Posted March 9, 2018 Hertha Berlin vs Freiburg One of the more eye-catching games this weekend in the Bundesliga is Hertha Berlin vs Freiburg where both teams are still hovering precariously above the relegation play-off zone. Realistically, automatic relegation appears off the table now with Hamburg and FC Koln cut far adrift now with time running. However, a poor result here could come at the worst time possible for these two clubs. Hertha Berlin are sat in 12th position and just 6 points above the relegation play-off spot. Freiburg are one place lower in 13th and only 4 points clear of that danger zone. Both clubs have experienced Bundesliga II in recent seasons and they will be keen to avoid dropping down to that level once again. These two sides have endured inconsistent spells of form during 2018. Hertha Berlin have struggled to string wins together but have taken points off the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Freiburg have also suffered their fair share of defeats yet have earned points against teams such as RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen. This will be a game that Hertha Berlin will certainly fancy themselves winning. It will also be a game that Freiburg will feel they can take something from. I'm expecting both teams to go hammer and tong here to try and steal all three points. A win would really improve their survival chances. Goals should be expected with Hertha Berlin only failing to score once in their last seven home matches and Freiburg have conceded two goals or more in 12 of their last 15 Bundesliga away games. I'm torn between the draw and home win but at the price being offered for the home win I think it's worth it.
