Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 action coming up at the weekend but before then we have the small matter of the Coupe de France Quarter-Finals with two lower league teams left in the competition. After winning previous round against Ligue 2 side Auxerre by a comfortable 0-3, the team will take another Ligue 2 team for this round, playing against Lens. Beating a team that plays in a league above is a boost to the their mood for this encounter, together with a streak of seven matches without defeat, with four victories in that streak, still only two matches unbeaten while playing at home.

Despite showing they can handle opposition in higher leagues, in National league the team is barely above relegation positions and the possibility of promotion does not looks good. Have fared better at away than at home, there from 12 matches have only been able to won twice.

To proceed to this round the team kickoff a Ligue 1 team, as they beat 1-0 Troyes at home. The team looks favorites, as being the stronger side in this encounter, still Les Herbiers will not make it easy.

The team season in Ligue 2 has been anything but good, still six points out of relegation, and far from promotion, the team objective is to remain in Ligue 2, the team is the 6th best defense but their attack has lacked the punched needed and remains in the 14th position.

The team recent form is they best aspect as they have been able to score at least once in each of the previous four matches before the home defeat to Clermont, and  have score in the last seven on the road.

This match will be played in neutral field as it will be play in State de la Beaujoire in Nantes, which is close to Les Herbiers. Les Herbiers has shown they can take Ligue 2 teams and will not make it easy for Lens, still Lens has more quality and should impose but will be a close encounter.

Nice vs Lille

Talk about two sides that have under-performed this season. Last season, Nice surprised many by storming into the Champions League. Unfortunately, this season they look set to miss out on qualifying for European competition. Their poor season was compounded by their elimination from the Europa League last week by Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. Lille finished comfortably mid-table last season and won Ligue 1 as recently as 2011. However, they are deep in a relegation quagmire and things do not look to be improving quick enough.

Nice were dealt a huge blow with in-form striker Mario Balotelli set for a spell on the sidelines. The controversial striker had scored 13 goals in 19 games but it now seems even harder for the club to get out of this poor run of form that consists of not winning in their last 7 matches. Lille simply haven't recovered from the inexplicable departure of Marcelo Bielsa. His replacement, Christophe Galtier has overseen a plunge into the relegation spots and it will take a miracle to see them survive on this current form. Only scoring 26 goals in 27 games hasn't helped.

This game is going to be a turgid affair. Two out-of-form teams lacking confidence is certain to make for a dour spectacle. I would hazard a guess that both teams would probably settle for a draw. If there is going to be a winner then I'd probably back Nice but it won't be pretty.

I like over 2.25 in Nice V Lille I was surprised to see this drift earlier and now as I expected money has come for it. Nice will be very anxious to correct recent form and Lille can be very dangerous on their day. My numbers suggest there is value on overs.
