StevieDay1983 Posted February 22, 2018 Author Share Posted February 22, 2018 Villarreal vs Getafe The reason I am picking this game out for my weekly La Liga betting preview is because I watched Villarreal last weekend. Even though I wasn't very impressed with what I saw I still felt that there was the potential there to keep digging out the points. El Submarino Amarillo might not be on the best of runs but they are still well in the hunt for European football qualification. Javier Calleja's side are positioned 6th in La Liga. It is now three league games without a win but they remain 3 points ahead of 7th placed Eibar. Jose Bordalas side come to the Estadio de la Ceramica with one of the worst away records in the division but are also proving tough to beat for home sides. They are in 9th place and have drawn 4 of their last 5 league games. This is a game where I honestly think Villarreal will end their temporary poor run of results. Getafe have only won 1 game on the road and they struggle to score away with just 8 goals scored in 11 away matches. Villarreal have scored an average of 2 per game at home. It's just their defence that's the problem with their back-line leaking more than 1 goal per game on home turf. I'm backing Villarreal to win and I actually think it might even be with a clean sheet to add to the 7 they have already tallied in their last 20 home matches.
