Leicester vs Stoke

This week in the Premier League previews we start with a very intriguing fixture between 8th placed Leicester and 19th places Stoke. Neither team is in exceptional form with both sides absent of a victory in their last three league games. That run will continue for at least one of these two teams this weekend.

These are two clubs very much experiencing different seasons. The Foxes are still in a decent position in the league with qualification for Europe via the league still a realistic opportunity and an FA Cup Quarter-Final match against Chelsea at the King Power Stadium next month to look forward to. The Potters are in turmoil. After sacking Mark Hughes and replacing him with the controversial appointment of Paul Lambert results haven't really picked up. The team is now 2 points from safety and staring a relegation battle in the face.

In recent years, Leicester have had the advantage in this fixture. The last 5 meetings have seen Leicester win 2 with 3 games drawn. Their last meeting back in November did result in a 2-2 draw though. Leicester only have 1 defeat in their last 10 home matches. In comparison, Stoke only have 1 win on the road all season with the worst away record in the top flight.

It's still too early to tell if the anger of Stoke fans surrounding Lambert's appointment is going to be warranted. He's a manager that has enjoyed success in the past but it's been a while. In Claude Puel, Leicester clearly have a manager who knows how to manage in this league. He might not win them titles but the club is still considering to be punching above its weight given their calibre of player. I can see a win for the home side here. It might not be pretty but I really fear for Stoke this season.

Spreadex go the following on early goals

Liverpool  33-36

Bournemouth 48-51

Leicester 44-47

i'd be surprised if we didnt see the home teams score in the first half in these games. Liverpool usually oblige at home, and W east Ham shouldn't prove too tough to crack early on.. Stoke need wins, and will need to get at Leicester which should play into the home sides hands. Mahrez could be starting for them too. Bournemouth & Newcastle both need the points too, and the Cherries will be at them from the off.

Really can't be doing with backing results any more after Derby & Fulham both let me down midweek.

Brighton V. Swansea

This is another game where both teams need the points. Both teams are on a decent run of form, and I couldn't split the result between the two. Perhaps the draw may be worth backing here.

However, as with the last game I think the value will lie in BTTS. Swansea will come here knowing it's a game they have a realistic chance of getting 3 points from. Brighton are at home, and will want the first goal to settle things down.

No major injury worries for the home team either, with everyone available, and record signing Locadia should be itching to go after scoring on his debut.

Hi Punters. Been off for a while but good to see a vastly improved PL website! Kudos to @Sir Puntalot & team for doing a wonderful job! Easy navigation, more leagues etc..

As for this weekend I'm backing Burnley to win  against Southampton. Holding red-hot Man City in the last game was no mean feat. Watford and Manchester United also look good to win at present odds. Chelsea's away form says it all. Everton have let in 9 goals in the last two away games...their defense is awful

Watford vs Everton

At first glance, I thought this would be one of the tougher games to preview in the Premier League this weekend. Both teams are currently experiencing inconsistent form. However, looking across all of the markets there is some value flying around that makes this worth covering.

Watford find themselves hovering dangerously above the relegation zone. Yes, they are in 11th place but only 4 points separate them from the bottom three. That could be hugely reduced by the end of the weekend if results go against them. Not ideal early days for new boss Javi Gracia. Everton are looking safe under the reliable Sam Allardyce. In 9th place, they are only 4 points better off than their hosts this Saturday. So the need to keep picking up points is still critical.

Interestingly, there have been over 2.5 goals in 7 of the last 8 competitive matches played at Vicarage Road. I can see that happening again here. The prospect of qualifying for European football is all but impossible for the Toffees but they will see this as a chance of 3 points so won't sit back all game. The Hornets will also see this as a game where 3 points are more than achievable. For laughs, I'm going to back one sensible tip but also throw in a more speculative tip purely because the player I am picking has always done the business for my fantasy team and I think he could do it here as well.

Manchester United vs Chelsea

It's one of the biggest games of the season this Sunday as Jose Mourinho's Manchester United look to solidify their position in 2nd place in the Premier League table against Antonio Conte's Chelsea who will be keen to take another step closer to Champions League qualification next season.

There are injury concerns for both teams ahead of this game. United look to be without Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones could well be in contention. Chelsea could be without the trio of Tiemoue Bakajoko, Ross Barkley, and David Luiz.

Both of these teams are more than capable of killing a game. Chelsea almost managed to keep Barcelona shut out in midweek. United successfully managed to do it away to Sevilla. I can see the same happening here and I'm not entirely convinced either manager would be unhappy with that outcome.

United have only conceded 5 goals at Old Trafford this season. Only Manchester City have conceded less goals than Chelsea on the road this season. This game has a dour affair written all over it. Unless there is a moment of magic from Alexis Sanchez or Eden Hazard then it's going to be decided by a single goal or will be a bore draw.

Leicester City-Stoke City 2(5.50) or double chance 2.20

I decided for Stoke City, because Leicester fell in shape, I'm talking about the game. The last time they played was convincingly against Southampton and Petersborgh United. I've been following them but I got the impression that they were more focused on the cup. On the other hand, Stoke City has to win here to get the fresh air, the last game really did not have luck, against Brighton & Hove Albion. With the new boost coming from Galatasaray and with the trio in the attack (Shaqiri, Moting and Diouf) you could mess up most of the bookmakers today.

Wow not much to call today. I'm really liking Swansea, they've showed good performances lately and I'm inclined to bet them, at least back +0,[email protected] which seems like a good value to me.

I'll have some fun with Liverpool's match in bet builder. I'm expecting home win however odds just aren't there for me, -2 for Reds is a big margin because they like to concede goals. So lets try this instead:

Mohamed Salah to Score Anytime in the Match
Sadio Mane to Score Anytime in the Match
Both Teams to Score in the Match - Yes
Over 7.5 Corners in the Match for Liverpool
Emre Can to be Booked
€10.00 Bet Builder @ 81.00

Ofc this is 0.1/10 stake so just a fun bet ;)

On a serious note I do like Btts and O2.5 @2.20. Liverpool have had few clean sheets lately and it's time to reverse that trend, WHU is more than capable of scoring a goal.

Might take Leicester crazy over 3 bet because with them you never know really. If i look back at h2h the most common result is 2:2 between the two in the last few games. So why not.

Have fun, BOL

I think West Brom at Home to Huddersfield is a solid pick today. This is just the kind of Game the baggies need on the horizon after the recent publicised scandal of the jolly to spain.

Looking at stats, in 13 EPL away games Huddersfiled have conceded 27 goals, thats averaging at 2 goals a game. the last 4 games away in the EPL they have conceded 8 and scored 1. Only Newcastle out of the bottom ten sides have conceded more (32) in this same period. They have also only scored 8  goals over these 13 away games. 4 coming in one freak game away to watford. so thats 4 goals in 12 away games. Huddersfield do not like playing away from home and are poor travellers.

On the other hand West Brom have played most teams tight at home this season. Their only major defeat came at the hands of Chelsea 0-4 but all other games have been tight affairs with the baggies losing 4 of these 13 games by the odd goal. They have drawn 7 and won 2 but the crucial fact is that West Brom do tend to score at home.

I think this game is ideal for Pardew to galvanise the troops. West Brom do not tend play badly at home, yes they lost two quickly in succession to bogey side Southampton (lost last 4 against them) but i think Huddersfiled will end up back in the championship at the end of the season and these are three points that the Baggies will gladly grab today.

Bets to put on the shortlist for this game

West Brom to Win

West Brom to win and under 2.5

West Brom to win BTS no

Under 2.5 goals

West Brom to Nil

BTS NO
