MCLARKE
Can anybody recommend a source of data that can be used to produce and test systems. I currently use data from racing dossier but I am finding this to be unreliable with a lot of missing data which is causing me a lot of problems. The data I require is date, race type, number of runners, course, going, class, distance, horse name, age, weight, odds (sp and bsp), race value, finish position, distance won/lost by, OR. Also some form of speed figure and, if possible, race time. This should be able to be exported to Excel and should have several years of historical information. I currently pay £60 per quarter for racing dossier. Any recommendations or advice would be gratefully accepted.
BillyHills
I used to get archive results from here in csv but it looks like things have changed a bit and i'm not sure how much it is. You can download a sample though https://www.ukhorseracing.co.uk/Archives/DisplayFolderContents.asp?Folder=2017 gbettle
Birchy
Not sure if you'll get all of that information in one file but I've used the following FREE sources in the past: http://www.betfairpromo.com/betfairsp/prices/ https://historicdata.betfair.com/ You can also get a lot of history from the Sporting Life by manipulating the url dates, however they are web pages rather than excel sheets, eg: https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/results/2016-01-13 Those go back to 2005, so plenty of races to test against, however you have to click each racecard which is a PITA. Would be a good programming project though to get all of that data into a spreadsheet. Also worth considering is http://adrianmassey.no-ip.org/web1/ Edited January 10, 2018 by Birchy Added Adrian Massey url BillyHills and gbettle
