Hutchinson out injured for Wednesday our only player with some fight.

I fear the worst on Friday and don't expect our gutless bottlers to put up a fight even with the new manager effect.

20 points sheff utd win at 10/11 b365

1 point sheffu 4-0 @ 40/1 ladbrokes

1 point sheff u 4-1 @ 40/1 ladbrokes

just to add : apparently the new manager has initiated double training sessions, so he's obviously not happy with the fitness levels.

Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday

Interesting to see your thoughts, @waynecoyne. I have been there as a Cardiff fan and it's a depressing place to be. It sounds like your current squad is like our Cardiff team near the end of the Dave Jones era. Full of talented players with the wrong attitude. I would like to think your prediction is a bit pessimistic. I'd be surprised if the Blades stuck four goals on you... although if they did that to you at home? That said, it was an in-form and confident United side back in September. United have the 5th best home record in the Championship winning 8 of their 13 games at Bramall Lane this season. However, they have also lost there four times. Wednesday have only won 3 of their 13 games on the road. I'm sorry to say, I usually state that derby matches are close to impossible to predict. On this occasion, I think you will do well to make it competitive. I can see Wednesday being in a state of transition for a few weeks. If the gaffer is pushing the players harder then they might be fatigued for a short while before any improvement is seen. United also have Wilder who knows the meaning of the derby so he'll have his side up for it. It won't be a total massacre but I do agree that United should win.

hi stevie

i don't actually believe they will win 4-0 or 4-1,but if they get an early goal it could be a drubbing.

The squad is on its arse and needs adding to -it will be interesting to see if chansiri allows this as we need 4 or 5 players.

We have only 2 fit centre halves (loovens and venancio), both full backs are poor. The keeper is a reserve but has been performing well. Our first choice midfield would include lee bannan and hutchinson all injured. Our best striker is hooper, again injured. Rhodes is out of form and confidence but he needs service and we don't provide it. wallace has been poor all season, reach has done well generally and occasionally pops up with a wonder goal-usually early on. Because of all the injuries a few under 23s have been drafted into the first team squad , but i'm not sure this is the best match to blood them in. Matt Penney is a left back who scores spectacular free kicks. Sean Clare has been on loan at gillingham and apparently done well.

If chansiri doesn't allow incomings we will definitely be in a relegation fight as i have said previously.

And I forgot to mention our best player forestieri who is ......injured..

Cardiff vs Sunderland

This preview is a strange one for me to write. All season I have been so positive about Cardiff's form but right now we are struggling. We have lost four league games on the bounce and struggled against Mansfield in the FA Cup. The simple reason for this has been injuries to the spine of our team. We have been missing Morrison in defence, Gunnarsson in midfield, and Zohore up front at various points in that run. Gunnarsson is the big miss and he's set to be out until well into February. Until he returns or we bring in more depth in that position we will be fighting an uphill battle, such is his dominance in the middle of the park. Coleman has ignited some improvement in the Black Cats. They have only lost 2 of their 6 league games so he's turned them into a difficult team to beat. This isn't going to be a pretty game. Both teams are struggling to score right now. If you're planning on watching it on Sky Sports this Saturday lunch time, I wouldn't bother!

Interesting thoughts on here this weekend. @StevieDay1983 & @waynecoynebacking against their teams!

What surprises me, is to see Sheff Weds with a possible relegation scrap coming up. It was only over a season ago that they beat Brighton in a thrilling semi final and looked set for promotion. A strong squad, a good manager, and a chairman setting his sights on the big time. It's amazing how quickly things can change in football isn't it?

Very best of luck to Wednesday tonight! Sheff Utd fans and especially Chris Wilder came across as arrogant and downright horrible when we played them in the season, have honestly never come across anything like Wilder in the past. Really hope you can do it, although form/injuries certainly point to a home win as you say.

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa

An interesting fact about this game is that it is the only fixture in Europe where two former European Cup winners are playing against each other in the second tier of their league. As a Cardiff fan, I struggle with the mentality of some supporters that they have a divine right to success. I don't necessarily get the impression this is the case with these two teams but I certainly feel they believe they are better than the Championship. Maybe that's a good thing. After all, why settle?

Anyway, this is a fascinating clash. Forest will play their first game under new boss Aitor Karanka and Villa will look to keep their play-off charge going with a third win in a row in the league. Forest could have mixed news with Bridcutt potentially making a return but Worrall being suspended. Villa could have defensive issues if Terry is out as suspected. It might take a while for Karanka's disciplined style to take hold but I think this game will be one where neither team will want to lose. I can see a low-scoring draw and I'd be surprised if there are many goals, even with both teams missing key defensive personnel.

At first glance I think Ipswich is good value. Bristol City will be a bit deflated after midweek but make no mistake they are still a very tough team to beat and also represent a bit of value.

Can't see Wolves slipping up with a fully rested squad. Bonatini after a lightning start hasn't scored in 7 but has still be pretty good up front doing the hard work. We have a new guy Rafa Mir from Valencia  now though who is sure to try and make an impact up front and the signs were good when he came on for the last 10 mins against Swansea. The more competition up there is only going to make us stronger. Barnsley are bigging this one as rematch of the season after we nicked a last second winner against them in the reverse leg, but I can't see anyone backing against us other than in blind hope.
