StevieDay1983
It's the last round of league games in the League of Ireland this week. Cork City are already crowned as champions. Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, and Derry City have all qualified for the Europa League. At the other end of the table, Drogheda United and Finn Harps will play next season in the second tier. However, one relegation spot remains. Galway United currently fill it and are three points off safety. If they can get a shock win against Dundalk and at least one of Sligo Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic lose then they will survive due to a superior goal difference. It's all to play for! @silver fox, @Division, and @Marc Kearney, what do you think ahead of these games?
silver fox
Derry to bt St Patrick`s A tough game to call in the final round of matches for this seasons Airtricity Prem League. Derry could finish 3rd if they win and Shamrock lose or draw to Limerick but Dundalk look safe being 8th in the table and though they are only 3 points ahead of 10th place Galway they would need to lose, Galway to win and also Sligo to win to be in any danger of dropping into the relegation places. Given St Patrick`s are unbeaten in their last 4 games and beat champions Cork 4-2 at home in their last league game that scenario seems unlikely. Derry have been in inconsistent form in recent games but have been strong at home, they have won 7 and lost 3 of their last 10 home games. I am going for a close game with Derry just coming out on top.
