BillyHills Posted July 26, 2017 Share Posted July 26, 2017 505 Worcester Free Stone Hill 2/1 Bet365 NAP Won two races over hurdles off marks of 107 and 109 earlier in the season and then was narrowly beaten in better company at Aintree. Came back after 2 months off to run a good race at Stratford and would have won with a decent jump at the last. Will be spot on now and ready to resume winning ways. Snug Posted July 27, 2017 Author Share Posted July 27, 2017 Also liking the looks of Elusive Cowboy at 14-1 in the first race for amateurs at Newbury. For such a young horse, he's been around starting off in Ireland with Ger Lyons before a stint for Stuart Edmunds and now with Chris Gordon. Seems a bit of an inconsistent type but I like to think the time to catch one of these types is after a bad run, which last time over hurdles, was out the back all the way and never really go into it. Has however, shown glimmers of ok form running well on his final start for Lyons when hitting the front two furlongs out, at Tipperary, before being collared late on. Has shown he can win for Edmunds at Wolverhampton and went close at Towcester so he definitely has ability when on a going day. Interesting Gordon has booked the top amateur in Simon Walker, who has only ridden once for Gordon in the last 5 years, finishing 3rd for him. Simon Walker one of the best and he is more than capable of getting Elusive Cowboy to run one of his better races and if he does off this workable mark, then 14-1 is well worth an each-way try.
