735 Perth

Ryalex NAP 2/1 Bet365
Lucinda Russell loves nothing better than having a winner at Perth and she looks to have lined this race up for her Ryalex. He was a good third last time out at Carlisle and it looks as though the trainer has finally got him healthy and has now had 3 uninterrupted starts for the first time since she had him. Drops in class now and ready to do the business.

2.55 York - Toofi @ 33/1 Ladbrokes

Toofi was a massive eyecatcher the last day at Doncaster on his debut for Butler. On the wrong side of the track he traveled really sweetly but got no sort of run and ended up staying on under a soft ride. He wasn't beaten that far all things considered and he's come on significantly for the run each season so I expect him to strip fitter this time around. He's also down another 2lbs so there are plenty of positives about his chances tomorrow and he looks a cracking bet at the prices.

YORK 5 35 Theydon Grey @ 6/1 bet365 win thanks

Theydon Grey.....from William Haggas yard the 4yo only came to yard from Peter Charalambous yard on April 17th this year and new yard gave him his first run for them on 25th April some 22 days ago at Yarmouth 1m 2f GF when going off 15/8 fav he flopped to finish 4th of 6 runners beaten 6.5 lengths. Held up in 4th and closed 4f out to chase leaders and ridden 2f out, little response and no impression was 4th and well held inside final furlong eased towards finish , He's been successful twice at 1m on the all-weather and has a bit to prove but unraced over 1m4f and maybe too early to dismiss him with yard only having 22 days to work on him, Ryan Moore booked to ride him and is 6/1 fav early prices which suggest to me he's been working well at home

4.05 York: Musidora Stakes (Fillies' Group 3), 1m 2f

On paper it is hard to oppose exciting Shutter Speed on the back of a very impressive performance at York last month, which also worked out extremely well with the 3rd Enable winning the Cheshire Oaks subsequently.

However with the ground easing and further rain on its way it might be a little bit more an open contest than the odds-on price tag for John Gosden's filly suggests, mainly because Jim Bolger brings an intriguing contender in the name of Vociferous Marina over.

This girl has put the "wow look" already twice on my face in her  young career. That was last year at the Curragh when she cantered all over the field to produce a stunning turn of foot to win a 7f maiden.

And that was at Navan in the listes Salsabil Stakes last month when she looked still a bit green and raw but once in the clear power home in tremendous style from the back of the field which in turn earned her a higher speed rating than the one Shutter Speed - albeit eased down in the final 100y - in her last outing.

Vociferous Marina clearly responded for the step up in trip after she bombed out on her seasonal debut run, though she was a big drifter on that day and things went clearly not her way.

She has shown in the past that cut in the ground is not a problem, so the soft conditions won't bother her I suspect. She clearly is a big danger to Shutter Speed in my book as the turn of foot she has shown on two occasions now looks quite special.

Selection:
Vociferous Marina @ 5/1 Bet365

2.45 Yarmouth

SEXY SECRET @ 10/1 Coral

Generally runs well here, his last win came at the track off 1lb higher than today, he followed that up in the Autumn with a second off 2lb higher. Last time out he ran well here for a long way before tiring late on, he might have needed that after over 2 months off and is slightly down in trip today.
