OK I am going to try this with an increase at loss system. The increase will only take effect after the 3rd bet and will increase by 1 Pt. It will stop after a profit is made. Just to throw the spanner in the works, if a profit is not made after the 5th bet, every winner we have will decrease the bet by an amount determined by the price of the winner (cannot decrease below 5 Pts.)  

1. Odds on winner, (after bet 5) next bet will be same as previous.

2. Winner from Evens to 11\8 next bet will decrease by 1

3. Winner from 6\4 to 9\4 next bet will decrease by 2

4. Anything above 9\4 next bet will decrease by 3

Don't forget you cannot drop back below 5.

So to sum up first 5 bets will be : 3 Pts, 2Pts 1 Pt, 4 Pts, 5 Pts  

If no profit is made after 5 bets the above 4 rules come into play. 

Hope this is understandable.

Yesterday would have shown an outlay of 15 Pts ..... Return of 27.5 Pts    Profit of 12.5 Pts.

Interesting posts on the staking plans !

good luck with all the paper trials

I've been trying a staking plan for the last few months but I've only been betting on football since about last October with 95% single win bets with the odd double and 'fancy' bet here and there .............so basically I was expecting a pretty good strike rate, up around 50%

Since around mid March I tried the following ...........

 

Started with 100 and had 20 times 5 bets.

At the end of that sequence I had around 141 so then did 20 times 7 

At the end of that I had around 145 so did 20 times 7 again

At the end of that I had 165 so did 20 times 8

That's when the losing run set in and before long I was back down to 105

So I had a reset and started again at 20 times 5 .............that's the sequence I'm currently in

 

I guess it's a common staking plan but I found it stopped me doing stupid bets like 30 quid on Burnley to beat Lincoln at 1/6 .............. ............to be fair that was the shocker which made me think I needed a disciplined staking plan !

I think 20 bets at a level stake is a good number to get you over any reasonable losing runs and by increasing or decreasing your stake at the end of every sequence of 20 bets it stretches out your betting bank

Just for your information:

*For some reason High School Days (1.50 Listowel) was showing as an EW bet this morning. Only selections at 8/1 or higher should be showing EW. I have re submitted it now.
Also the first race at Gowran has been omitted as none of the ratings were high enough to warrant selection at this level. In other words the race is highly likely to go to a newcomer.

Some races can be missed due to short space between off times. I read a System years ago that does work and worth considering. It dont really double up but does chase loses. Someone might remember the name of it. i will give a short example and see what you think. to try and keep it simple we will go for a £10 win.

Horse 1   4/1   so spin first and second figure around and divide it  1 \ 4  (use that \ cos i cant find a divide symbol) times it by 10 and it equals 2.5

Horse 1   4/1     1 \ 4 x 10 = £2.50    Horse loses so you need to win £12.50

Horse 2   13/8    8 \ 13 x 12.50 = 7.6923****  round up to £7.70  Horse loses need to win £20.20  (£2.50 +£7.70 + £10 =£20.20)

Horse 3   10/11    11 \ 10 x 20.20 =  £22.22  Horse wins Returns £42.42 Total Profit £20.20 Start again or if your going for £50 a day go for throat and do it to £50

Like any system like these its not as much as making the profit but getting the strike rate. It can become expensive when you hit a losing run or you could set a limit of losers and start again. see what you think of this its a interesting system.

ive been paper trading doubling up(martingale) for over a month with good results

as i mentioned earlier, i would paper trail for 2 weeks and post the results,and amend/tweak some rules

each way was the only thing i changed, as it made a loss, so it is win only bets

2 losing days(including the ew) with other days profitable from under 1 point up to over 100 pts win deducting all losses

only used punters lounge horse tips, its great they are in time order rather than course order, makes it so easy

always had a winner within 7 bets

miss out on early prices,as your betting one race at a time

you would need several accounts / decent bank

time consuming/overlapping races/too many races

you are relying on pl horse tips(its working well since they started, 10 months profit so far) no reason to fear why it shouldnt)

Regarding the Nap selections:

After careful consideration and analysis the Nap selection will now be pre-determined by how far clear of the second top rated horse. Also these selections will only be taken from races that all of the runners have 'true' ratings. 

In the past the Nap was selected from a shortlist of the most fancied runners but is some cases these races have been won by horses running for the first time without a rating. (2yo flat, 3yo Maidens, Novice Hurdles, Novice Chases)

Years ago many horses would need a run or improve greatly after a run but these days trainers can get a horse ready first time up and I believe we are seeing an increase of debutant winners this season.

quick update, although no longer paper trialing, ive been keeping any eye on things,and as the weather was causing havoc with the selections, i had never expierenced  during trial,i kept monitoring them yesterday and when i seen we were getting into double digit selections, i would have been trying to 2048 pts on at 11/2, which would have been a great day, with a touch of the squeaky bum time

I have checked the results of Punters Lounge tips from 1st August 2016 to 31 May 2017 which we can download from the link given in the Tips page and they are amazing.

However, i went a step further and i did the following.

I have excluded the tips suggested for Each Way and I checked all results if I was to bet 10 points on singles.

P/L = -9.96 to £1 stakes

another one i have been paper trading on and off for a while, is the insure betting, where if its a winner you get paid at the fixed odds, and your money back if its placed, i try to bet on races with 3 or 4 races,horse isnt odds on, in the open market. 1 unit per bet .1 per day, and it isnt bog, so if its a big drifter you lose the benefit 

i will keep it in this section till friday, and will start a new thread from sat, of could keep it here
